“You kind of get what you pay for ...”

PROS: Great nostalgic spin on a small town diner. Good place to bring kids. Menu is pretty basic with breakfast being a highlight. Try the scrambled eggs with english muffins and bacon. The waitstaff are mostly high school kids who are pleasant and add to the homey atmosphere.

CONS: The decor needs a makeover. Badly. The linoleum on the tables is worn. Small children can be loud and disruptive on occasion if you are looking for a quiet meal. One of the brothers who own the place clearly favors the locals when it comes to service.

FINAL COMMENT: Definitely go to the Sip 'N Soda for the townie vibe. Prices are pretty reasonable. Food is good. Just know that if it comes down to you or a local jockeying for a table
guess who's going to get the nod?!

“Past its prime”
Reviewed 28 August 2013

My parents owned a diner, so perhaps I have higher standards, but I was disappointed. I came here for breakfast one morning and vowed not to return. The place is old and dumpy. The owners can maintain the nostalgia of the old fixtures, but they should seriously upgrade their booth cushions. They are uncomfortable and overly mended. Food was mediocre. Some things like the home fries were obviously not homemade. I also didn't think the pancakes and omelettes were well-cooked. The service was professional, attentive and quick but The interior of the place is very drab (a lot of tan and brown) and that makes it hard to tell how clean it is. In comparison, the atmosphere and food at Bridgehampton Candy Kitchen, are much better. prices are expensive for a diner--even one in the Hamptons. I just don't understand the fuss over this place.

We enjoyed great milkshakes at this classic old fashioned diner in Southampton. Friendly service and not too expensive

“WHAT MAKES THESE BURGERS SO GOOD?”
Reviewed 19 August 2013 via mobile

This is our #1 stop in Southampton -- what a jewel!
Such a welcome lack of pretension in a most unexpected spot. And OH! Those burgers! What in the world makes them so delicious?!

“Classic diner”

You always know what you are getting when you go to Sip 'N Soda. It feels like you stepped back into the 50s with their stools lining the bar, and the booths lining the wall.
Their eggs are always cooked perfectly, their home fries are always on point. The best part is their ice cream. Try the peach and you may never try another flavor again.
