“Great experience”

My wife and I had dinner reservations here on a Sun. night at the end of restaurant week. We made reservations to stay at a nearby motel not thinking that The North Fork Table and Inn would have a room available. The motel was not acceptable and we frantically called them asking if they had a room for that night. Lucky for us, they did. We booked their larger room, room #1 and arrived about an hour before our dinner reservations. The hostess was great. She arranged to have us taken right up to the room to get settled in before dinner. The room was large, clean, tasteful and relaxing. The bathroom was spotless. The bed was more comfortable than our own bed at home. The only drawback was that this room faces the main road in town. So the traffic noise that began early on Monday morning was a big annoying. Our 3 course prix fixe dinner was spot on. We both enjoyed the rock shrimp appy, the chicken and risotto entree and the chocolate caramel tart for dessert. Home-run all around. Breakfast the next morning was light and charming. Fresh squeezed orange juice, warm scones, quiche and freshly baked muffins were all a perfect way to start the day. We will certainly be back for the delicious food, but would ask for a room in the back of the bldg if we decide to stay the night.

My wife and I went to the North Fork Table and Inn for dinner. What a dinner it was. We got the price fixed menu for the three-course dinner. The food on a scale from one to 10 with ten being the highest was an 8.5. The dessert pushed it over the top. The carrot cake and the chocolate caramel tart with ice cream was simply sinful. Mike the host was a gentleman and made the rounds at all the tables. The hostess however, Mary (I don't know her last name) was not polite and down right rude. She never came to our table (she made the rounds at every single table, I noticed her), but NEVER once acknowledged our existence in the place. While the overall experience was pleasant, I have to be honest and say, I will never go back to this establishment. Mary ruined it for us. Sure it was only one person, but her presence and utter disrespect of us was a significant part of our experience there and one to be noted. Don't waste your time people, there are other placed with the food is just as good and the overall service is superb.

My wife and I returned for our annual trip out East for Valentine's which always includes dinner and a nights stay at the North Fork Table & Inn. This gem never disappoints us as we leave well fed and well rested. The dinner and breakfast are second to none and warm, cozy and friendly atmosphere keep us coming back. Thanks again for a wonderful Valentine's day tradition.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are perfect for a night away to wine country.

A warm and welcoming staff are this locations greatest assets. We were invited in by a very courteous blond haired lady who showed us our room (Room #1) and made sure we were comfortable. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and in good working order. We had a drink at the bar downstairs before going to dinner in Greenport and was served by a very attentive and professional bartender. My wife and I stayed on Friday night, so the downstairs dinning room was very noisy until around 11:45pm, so if your sleep schedule requires that you are asleep before then, I would not recommend this location. Breakfast was served from 8am to 9:30am and was light, but delicious. All together a charming stay and we would certianly return on our next trip out east.

Room Tip: Room 1; view of main road and nice natural light.

I stayed at NFTI this past weekend with a friend. It was my second trip to the inn, but my first meal there. AMAZING! We sat at the bar and enjoyed good conversation with the very knowledgable bartender, and then we had wonderful seats in the main dining room. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairings, and every bite was phenomenal. Our favorite dishes were the hamachi and foie duo, and the poached lobster in carrot and ginger. The menu changes often, but I have a feeling there isn't a "bad" night. The room is cozy, but I think standard for a B&B. The linens are Frette and the toiletries are Bigelow. There is WIFI and Cable. Breakfast the next morning is delicious--especially one of the famous quiches or frittatas that the pastry chef is known for. Each breakfast table is set with a copy of the New York Times.

We started the New Year with an indulgent chef's tasting menu (there is plenty of time in 2012 to lose weight). Second time staying at the inn. Cozy, clean rooms and comfy beds.

We were greeted warmly at the front door and shown to our quiet room that had everything we needed. Dinner at the restaurant is the best outside of New York City, and the homemade breakfast of frittata, muffins, oatmeal, and granola, along with the crisp table linens and Sunday New York Times made us want to linger all day. A real treat for a night away.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 4. Quiet and small.
