The food is exceptional and our room, with the exception of truly filthy windows, was small but well-appointed, comfortable and clean. We were offered a glass of sparkling wine the evening of our second dinner, celebrating our anniversary, a sweet gesture. Our problem is that the whole experience was completely impersonal. A 20-something checked us in, gave us keys and showed us to our room -- all perfunctory, not an ounce of graciousness. The waitstaff was new and/or poorly trained -- could not answer our menu questions, knew nothing about the wines and needed to be reminded of things we had requested. In the mornings, a woman breezed through the breakfast room to check the coffee carafe, never engaged us or anyone else. Upon our return home, we received an email thank you from Claudia, Gerry, Mike & Mary but we have no idea who these people are. Introductions, not to mention personal engagement from an adult/owner/manager was non-existent. Pretty bizarre for a small inn, especially one with a hefty price tag. We might go back for dinner but we would never return to the inn.

This restaurant was recommended to us by someone at a local vineyard. We made reservations for 8pm and were seated right away. We decided to do the chefs tasting menu with wine paring. Food was amazing tasted very fresh even though it was small plate food we were stuffed before dessert. Then the bill arrived....$400!!! I mean the food and service were very good but $400 umm NO! So if choosing to go here just make sure you know you'll be spending a lot of money!!!

My wife and I stayed here over the weekend. The staff were good. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. It was nice being able to eat at the very good the restaurant downstairs and walk upstairs to the room. They do give priority for reservations to the guests that stay at the hotel. The complimentary breakfast the next day was well above average and very satisfying. That said the room we were in was very simple, noisy, and quite frankly overpriced. I'd suggest this place for an occasion where you want to eat at North Fork Table and make a night (or 2 nights out of it). Otherwise there are numerous cheaper and better options to stay in the North Fork.

This is a very small B+B--all of 4 rooms!! This is very old with creaky floors, low ceilings, a barely comfortable bed and traffic noise from the road if you have a front room. And potential adjacent room noise depending on your neighbor. There is no counter space and the shower is terrible.
So, if you want creature comforts, stay elsewhere. At least it is very clean.
On the other hand the restaurant is worth visiting, but consider bringing earplugs. We were in the large room to the right and it was one of those night where people were screaming at each other to be heard. Not a pleasant experience. We enjoyed the food and the wine list is quite extensive.
Happily it was restaurant week, so we felt we got a nice bargain for a 3 course meal.
For something surprisingly delicious, try the cod/potato pancake--awesome!!
I would not book a room here again, but certainly would consider another meal if I can get a table to the left in the smaller rooms.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not on the highway side.

Waitress left the table before everyone ordered their drinks. 2 of 4 guests said yes when asked if we wanted bread, but they forgot to bring the bread. After the meal we were again asked, do you want more bread? We just laughed. Food was good, but pricey for such nonchalant service. I think if you don't want to work as a waitress, then...don't!

Recently spent a weekend in the North Fork to check out some wineries. We stayed at the North Fork Inn and had dinner there one night. The "Inn" is very very old and the floors are slanted and the walls are thin. The rooms are very sparse...not a picture to be found, the TV is VERY small. All that being said we really enjoyed our stay. Because its small the noise was not such a big deal (we heard our neighbors one night but not the other)...it may be worse in the summer when all the tourists hit. The breakfast was fabulous and plentiful and they offered fresh water in the room each day. I didn't feel the elegance of the restaurant made it upstairs to the rooms but they were comfortable and the people friendly. The location for visiting wineries was great.

we went with 6 pp so we were able to taste many foods. they were so yummy.my plates were Local Race Rock Oyster Bisque (this was by far the best soup i've ever had in my life!), Truffle Crusted Bay Of Maine Cod Fillet (perfectly cooked, nice size for the fish) and Maine Diver Sea Scallops Ala Plancha (would have ordered more of these if I had room). Our table felt the desserts didn't live up to the apptz and entrees. I'd be willing to try again in a heartbeat. Try for yourself.
