Description: A Lure, located at the landmark Port of Egypt Marina, is the North Fork's newest waterfront seafood restaurant and the newest joint venture by celebrated chef Tom Schaudel and restaurateur Adam Lovett. The duo, known for aMano in Mattituck, Passionfish in Westhampton Beach and Jedediah Hawkins in Jamesport, is joined by chef de cuisine and partner Jeff Uguil who leads in the kitchen. The idea behind A Lure is to create a seafood chowder house, serving impeccably fresh fish and seafood, in a relatively casual and convivial setting for locals, boaters, day-trippers and vacationers on the idyllic North Fork of Long Island wine country.

“Great place but don't eat at the bar!!!”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

We love A Lure. Beautiful location on the water. Great food with nice local beers on tap and Long Island wine selection. Have a drink at the bar, but DON'T eat at the bar if you want a knowledgeable server. Opt for a table with a server that actually knows the menu. We ordered oysters and wanted to make sure cocktail sauce came with it and were told "oh yes everything comes with it". No cocktail sauce upon arrival. Then ordered the macadamia nut crusted flounder sandwich and there was no sauce or dressing. When I asked if it came with a remoulade, she said "oh no I don't think so". It was difficult to eat without any sauce and the bread was over toasted-overall dry. I asked for some mayo, which they brought. Then when we got home I looked at the menu and saw "remoulade" clear as day, to accompany the fried fish sandwich. I never complain about a meal. Some are good, some are not. But when you have someone working for you that is not informed, especially a place with Tom Schaudel's name on it, when so much thought goes into his menu, I would imagine he would be less than impressed.

“Staff - needs intense improvement”
Reviewed 14 August 2014

We have been patrons of this restaurant for years as the food is good however, the waitstaff and management have made this restaurant so un appealing that I don't think we will ever return. The busboys are extremely belittling and the manager was condescending. After an extremely long work week, we would look forward to going to alure for a nice meal and a drink. The last thing we need is to have anyone, especially a "manager" belittle us regarding nothing restaurant related being long standing patrons. In addition, the last thing we would want would be a dissertation from her regarding anything let alone her opinions regarding nothing relevant to the food being served. As hard working Americans after a long work week, we want good food, good service and no drama. Unfortunately, Alure does not fit the bill. Extremely disappointed. The manger actually acts like she is serving caviar in The Four Seasons restaurant on Park Avenue in NYC when actually, it is just a plain seafood restaurant on Long Island, far from the Hamptons. If you are looking for GOOD seafood with no drama or attitude, try Orient but the Sea and the Southold Fish Market.

Wonderful meal in a great setting overlooking a harbor. The service was good and we sat outside despite the threat of rain. Prices were reasonable
