The bed was excellent and the pillows were even better. If any hotels would like to know how this should be done (Holiday Inn Express, I'm looking at you), I submit the Parkview Hotel as the model.

We selected the Parkview for its proximity to the Carrier Dome, and it is just under a mile walk - very convenient, hard to get lost. The desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the parking behind the hotel was convenient.

I believe I mentioned the bed.

Though I did not know in advance, I certainly appreciated the eco-friendly steps the Parkview has taken. That said, as so often happens with green buildings, the shower was not particularly muscular. Since a room to me is a bed and a shower, that's always a little disappointing.

The only real downfall of the Parkview is the breakfast - it's wretched. Plan for a little extra time and budget to have breakfast elsewhere.

Dear TMFHitman,

Thank you for taking your time to write a review on Tripadvisor regarding your recent visit. We are very happy to hear you loved the bed and the pillows and we are honored that you submit the Parkview Hotel as a model. Please know that the weakness of the showerhead is passed along to our Engineering Team to maintain. We look forward to your next visit.

The room is a nice size, nice bathroom, very clean. The heating/air conditioning is very efficient, the room is peaceful, not cluttered. Bed not so comfortable to me since it's a platform beef with no box spring so I was missing some softness. They were gracious in relocating me on the first night since I'm a light sleeper and i could hear some cars in the original room which is closer to route 81. Free breakfast was very nice, plentiful and the coffee excellent. Had appetizer and drink at bar, not an extensive menu but it was good. Overall very nice experience, good price and located near everything.

This hotel is right next to the Crown Plaza and just down from the Theatre in downtown Syracuse. It is a quick 20 min walk from the Carrier Dome. The purpose of our trip was Black Friday and to catch a football game at the dome. We booked through Priceline and got to name our price which worked out to around $100 a night. The hotel is deceiving as it looks like an old apartment building from the outside but inside you can see it has been renovated and has built some character. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. They were able to provide us with a free shuttle service to the dome, however we tipped the driver. The hotel lobby has a 24 hour snack shop/bar service, just grab and go. Just make sure you check with the front desk staff so they can bill your room. The room was cozy but the beds were so comfy. The bathroom was very large with a walk-in shower, no tub, and the one thing it was lacking was shelf space. The room we were in had a queen bed and a fridge and microwave. The TV was a flat screen TV with many channels. There is on pool on site, and the fitness centre is small with few machines but it would be adequate for a cardio workout, no free weights. There are TVs in there also. The parking is at the back of the hotel and free. There was a free continental breakfast consisting of hot and cold breakfast options (ie juice, eggs, toast, sausage, pastries, fruit, instant oatmeal, muffins, yogurt, coffee/tea) and was definitely adequate. We would stay here again for sure...

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the elevator, near the stairs, third floor was handy. We had a corner room...

My husband and I were very pleased with this hotel, service was great, rooms clean and well appointed. I wish there was an on site restaurant but there was plenty of choices very close by. My one complaint was a strong curry smell that seemed to flow through the hallways. I don't know if some rooms have kitchens but this was quite overpowering.

Other than that, as I said, our stay was quite enjoyable.

Dear Rmuparents,

Thank you for your great review. We are pleased to hear you and your husband enjoyed your stay with us. Some of our rooms do have a microwave; the curry smell you have mentioned was possibly coming from another guest room that had a microwave, for that we apologize. We hope to see you and your family in the near future.

I spent one night at the Parkview Hotel while I was visiting SUNY Upstate. The people are very friendly and will pick you up and drop you off at the airport. It is also very close to the amazing Destiny USA mall. The rooms are very spacious, well-kept, pristine, and eco-friendly. The rooms are well lit as well. The bathroom is huge and charming. My only complaint is that there was not much room for your things on the sink of the bathroom. However, that is a minor detail that isn't that big of a deal. I would definitely stay here again if I am in Syracuse.

My husband & I recently spent one night at the Parkview when we went to Syracuse for a concert. We were so impressed with this hotel! Our room was very spacious and had a kitchenette. It actually felt more like a small apartment! The décor was very nice and the king sized bed was comfortable. My only complaint was that the pedestal sink did not provide much space for toiletries, etc. However the bathroom was a nice size & incredibly clean. All staff were very friendly & the hotel offers free shuttle service (just be sure to book ahead of time to ensure you get a ride when you need it). The free breakfast offered several choices- cereal, scrambled eggs, sausage, etc. We also like the free parking and wifi. Although it is not in the best location, it is a quick cab ride or drive to the downtown area, carrier dome and other main attractions. Our stay was a quick one, but we look forward to staying here again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors allow a nice view of the city at night.

Cute, charming and eco-friendly find in Syracuse. Stopped here while visiting SUNY-ESF. Impressed with the commitment to the environment, however there were no recycling bins in the breakfast area or an option to recycle in the room. Free breakfast was good, having turkey sausage as an option was a plus.
