Came up for one night from Brooklyn for a night "in the mountains". Arrived around noon and we were able to check in early, which was really nice. The woman at the front showed us the property, the coffee/snack room, breakfast area (included with reservation), showed us our room, how to work the fireplace, etc. She was a wealth of knowledge about the area (hiking, dining, etc.) and made us feel welcomed from the start. From this point forward, it never changed. Our room in the East Lodge was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. No issues at all. Terrance, the owner, recommended a place for dinner which ended up being fantastic (Deer Mountain Inn), as well. As stated by others, the breakfast was also a delight. Terrance and Amy were nice enough to keep breakfast open a little longer while we roled out of bed late (was supposed to be from 8:30 to 10 AM) but we arrived at 10:15 and there was no problem. Overall, a great stay and we will be back!

We stayed here for a weekend during leaf season. The owners Terrence and Amy were wonderful. Terrence is a chef, trained at CIA (Culinary Inst. of America). He made a truly wonderful breakfast which was included in the price. They both went out of their way to make us comfortable and happy. The location is great...within walking distance to the quaint little town of Tannersville with restaurants and shops.

Our stay at the lodge was beyond our greatest expectations. The inn keepers were extremely friendly and offered wonderful dining tips. The breakfast we enjoyed daily was homemade from scratch and excellent. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I can not recall ever staying at a place where there was nothing to complain about, that is until visiting Hotel Mountain Brook, not one complaint! We will definitely return and have already recommended the lodge to all of our friends.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Mountain Brook this past weekend and loved it. We stayed there once before, last February, for my birthday, and our experience both times was perfect.

The rooms are beautiful, very clean, and the hotel staff is exceptionally friendly. Breakfast in the morning is DELICIOUS. Also, it's located just a few minutes from the small downtown restaurant area, and just a few minutes from Hunter Mountain. It's perfectly located--close and convenient to all the activities, while still being quiet, removed, and not touristy.

Definitely stay here if you're headed to upstate NY! It's quickly become our favorite romantic getaway location.

Just got back from a GREAT stay at the Hotel Mountain Brook!

A group of 20 plus of us stayed here for a week, while participating in a horse show nearby. After making our reservations months ago, we were slightly alarmed to learn that the Inn had just changed hands a few weeks ago. Not sure what to expect, we couldn't have been more pleased with the accomadations and the hospitality of the new Inn keepers, Terrance and Amy.

On top of the great accommodations and hospitality, Terrance serves up a great breakfast!

They have dog friendly rooms, which several of us took advantage of, and plenty of grounds for them walk and play.

My daughter took advantage of the DVD movie lending library several times during our stay.

My wife and I are already planning a return trip without everyone else!

Best of luck to Terrance and Amy with their new inn!

My husband and I stayed here over the Labor Day weekend for a get-away before my last year of graduate classes started. It is a cute hotel that feels more like a bed and breakfast. We stayed in the main house on the second floor and felt quite comfortable. It was a little warm in the room when we arrived (high humidity and warmish temperatures that day), but the wall unit A/C worked remarkably well to cool the room. My favorite part about the room, however, was definitely the whirlpool tub! Though I didn't hike too much that weekend, I can imagine that it would be heaven on sore muscles! Be forewarned, however, that the tub is not overly large; it was a bit small for my 6'3" husband but fine for his 5'4" wife. ;)

The breakfast in the morning was very good, and it is only a short walk into downtown Tannersville to experience the lovely little shops and restaurants. We ate at Pancho Villa's, the Mexican restaurant, twice. The hotel is also a short drive to Hunter Mountain and several other beautiful hiking trails. Though we truly enjoyed our stay and prefer less crowded experiences, it was obvious that this area is really more geared toward winter sports. It wasn't very crowded when we were there, but I'm sure it's bulging at the seams in the winter. All in all, a lovely stay, and I would recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Our second floor room faced the back of the hotel with a view of the woods.

I recently stayed at the lodge, Amy and John were probably the best part about my trip aside from the delicious gourmet food they cooked for breakfast! My son fell in love with the two of them and looked forward to breakfast time because they always came out and made him feel special. The food was amazing!! Our family will look forward to seeing them again in the future!!
