Beyond compare! One of my top 5 restaurants ever! Been going here forever, and everytime, I am overwhelmingly satisfied. Where do I begin, The Bread, one big handmade loaf served on wood with a knife sticking out from it, a meal in itself. The appetizers, my favs, escargot served in a puff pastry dripping with garlic butter, you need to share this, tortellini appetizer, yummy, the veal ragout, chunks of veal in a puff pastry topped with a light cream sauce, don't share this one. the salad, is a perfect accompaniment to the bread, and the entrees, the Maitre d'hôtel is a beautiful cut of filet mignon, topped with a dollop of garlic butter, with Bernaise on side (all homemade), the veal cordon bleu is to die for.
The desserts, OMG, pick one, homemade chocolate mouse in a jubilee glass rimmed with sugar! The peach melba, the pear Helena, oooh and the hot raspberries.
The décor is dated and there is an overabundance of coo-coo clocks to overcome. but if the only thing you want to impress is your taste buds, this will get them drunk :)
P.S. Always call for reservations, you can call the same day, sometimes the same hour, but you must call or you will not dine. I myself have been turned away.
I have been to every restaurant on tripadvisor for this destination and there is no comparison. Bon Apetit
