This is a wonderful piece of American history, preserved quite well from the 1700’s. There is an extensive and well described collection of old swords, muskets, etc. They have employees in period dress and provide scheduled demonstrations. The views of Lake Champlain are stunning.

It is hard to add to those who have already given a 5 rating. We were there for 4 hours and found so much that we did not know. The tour guides and re-enactors were excellent and answered all our questions. It was very interesting to watch, and talk to, those who were involved in crafts (for example, uniform and shoe makers) that were so important to the Fort's history.
Learning that this is not a federal or state funded operation operation makes it even more incredible.

If you like history, walking around, architecture and nature, this is the place for you. There is not so much to do in the Lake Champlain/Adirondacks region but this is definitely one place to check out and visit.
Make sure to see the Kings Garden.

Fantastic. Privately funded by the Pell family and donations, the fort is a wonderful place to visit. Another keystone of American revolutionary history.

We were pleasantly pleased to find this fort and tour it. There are several activities available and we only had a short time to enjoy them. People are dressed in period clothing and our tour guide was awesome!!
