This is a truly mixed review. I shall begin with the positives.
In general the limited menu is imaginative, bordering on pretentious at times.
For the most part, the food was above satisfactory. It was quite good.
Service was slow and spotty. The ambience was forgettable. No convenient parking,
but in a nice location near the River Street art galleries and antique shops.
The "Vegetarian Mac & Cheese" [$15] was tortellini / mixed vegetables with a Mornay Sauce.
My Kobe Burger [$13] was tasty but served well-done, in spite of it being ordered rare.
It was to come with "eggplant fries", but they were "all out."
I was offered cole slaw or potato salad. I suggested substituting a vegetable of any kind.
I got a side salad and the vinaigrette was absent. The salad contained shredded carrots and
shredded yellow squash (?) with tomatoes that were unripe to the pointer of being inedible.
This, in a community replete with farmer's markets, in August, ?
The House Salad is $8. That item is overpriced and thete were no other salads on the menu.
The bigger problem, as I see it, is that this all occurred on a Saturday evening at 6:45 p.m.
and there were few other diners. We had reservations. Overall experience was a big "Blah."
