I loved this place. I felt welcomed and relaxed from the beginning to the end...first of all the owners are great, they are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are impeccably clean, and each one is unique, with historical charm, but newly renovated so they feel updated at the same time. I love the location too, it's right next to a great cafe, around the corner from some fun restaurants on the lake, down the street from the Village of Trumansburg, and of course in the heart of the wine country, so has easy access to both Cayuga and Seneca lake vineyards. Also Taughannock Falls is so close.

I will definitely be going back!

My friend and I SO enjoyed our stay at the Black Walnut - quaint, relaxing, excellent amenities and great hospitality! It's location was convenient for our travel, even a quick stop for ice cream. :)

Having never been to the Finger Lakes region, I did not know what to expect. What I discovered was a charming, nature filled area. The Black Walnut B&B was the place we stayed, and I must say it fit perfectly into this setting. The house is warm and inviting; a 200 year old house decorated in a combination of folk and clean, classic style with modern amenities. We stayed in the "Blue Moon Suite" and were quite impressed. The bathroom is absolutely huge; a whole room unto itself set with comfortable chairs, an antique mirrored dressing table, and an inviting shower. The communal areas are spacious and comfortable. We especially liked the sun room with its antique style wicker furniture. The grounds contain winding paths in the garden which were perfect for a relaxing stroll after returning from a wine tasting. The Black Walnut is conveniently located right on the Cayuga wine trail and is very close to lots of attractions. The owners are very gracious and accomodating; the breakfast of homemade walnut pancakes really hit the spot. We've been to many B&Bs that were stuffy and pretentious. You will not find any of that at the Black Walnut, only warm hospitality and comfortable, homey surroundings.
