We were very happy with our stay at the Tupper Lake Motel. They have a very nice web site with nice pictures so that you have a good idea what to expect. I was very happy to see what I saw on the websight was for real. This is a very clean place! The grounds and pool were really nicely kept. The rooms had everything we could ask for and my #1 detail is cleanliness. I was very happy. And I liked the fact that we were right in the middle of town where we were around everything there. Across the street from the market was nice, right down the road to the wild center, shopping, restaurants, and even "Tupper Lake". Had a great stay at the tupper lake motel.

I had to pick up my son from SUNY Potsdam and everything there was booked for graduation so I chose this as the next-nearest place on our way home to NYC.

And what a find! The place evidently has been renovated in the relatively recent past and, although it is fairly basic, the quality of workmanship apparent in the bathrooms was equal to anything I have seen in a luxury hotel.

The building itself is not the most solid so some noise does pass from room to room.

Our corner room was large, meticulously clean and comfortable with two queen-size beds with first-rate mattresses. Only strange thing was no Kleenex. It was equipped with a fridge and there is a supermarket and a convenience store right across the street.

There is a pool in the middle of the forecourt which was just being readied for the season and looked appealing enough and behind the building is a large lawn - I would guess close to an acre - with a picnic table.

Tupper Lake itself is far and away the most dejected-looking town in the region and not somewhere you would choose to spend any time but if you're passing through, or just need a base from which to tour the Adirondacks, you would be very comfortable here.

I am always dubious about reviews that are glowing; they sound "planted." However, this motel speaks for itself so I will just give the facts, which are easily checked out. This motel looks brand new because there are perfect tiles; clean, unfrayed carpeting; clean bedding, lots of bright lights; and the Queen bedroom is large enough for two hikers with lots of "stuff." The owners were gracious and most accommodating. They even let us pay several days later; I didn't have my card upon arrival. Coffee is ready at 7 a.m. We were hiking closer to Long Lake and would have stayed there but I was not comfortable with the prices in Long Lake for what appeared to be old motels.

Upon our arrival at the Tupper Lake Motal we were infromed we did not have the two rooms which we had reserved three weeks earlier. It was quite evident that the manager had sold off one of our rooms leaving us without accommodations and with no regrets. It was quite a disappointment for our foursome. A lesson to be learned - always get a confirmation number.
