We spent two nights at the ADK Trail Inn last weekend and were very pleased with the great accommodations. The rooms are cozy, comfortable and very clean. The "hikers' breakfast" is very good, a great way to start the day. We met Wayne, one of the owners, and he was extremely gracious and open to all suggestions (including our suggestion to improve the morning coffee, which he did immediately!). There is a comfortable games room, with a nice wood stove. This room is a work in progress, and we were happy to hang out there, playing pool and ping-pong after a day of hiking. Superb value in an area where hotel rooms are often much more expensive. It's a great approach of mixing the value of an Adirondack motel with the friendliness and amenities of a bed-and-breakfast. Very much appreciated and we plan to return.

We stayed 2 days in midweek with a few other guests. Having stayed here before under different management we were naturally curious to see how it had changed. We were quite pleased to see that the intimate, quiet and sensitive atmosphere was preserved, with a young and enthusiastic couple eager to please. Wayne and Amy are ideal hosts and among the friendliest people we've stayed with. The legacy room we stayed in was clean and everything worked. Despite the occasional truck on the road outside, the rooms were unusually quiet and well insulated ( after 9 pm everything dies down and you could probably sleep on the road). The beds were unusually comfortable. What we really like is the absence of TV in the room, coupled with the game room, where we played several rounds of pool. The breakfast was generous and delicious both days, with an unusual amount of choices, somewhere between a continental and full breakfast. Coffee was delicious as well. As hikers, we were pleased to see an assortment of trail guides on the coffee table for us to use. One real surprise was the last morning, after breakfast, going out back to the bench by the stream with the morning sun peaking through the trees and glancing off the stream facing the bench. It's as if we were all alone in a beautiful setting. Very private. If you are wanting noisy night life, this is not the place for you. If you want something that really enhances the genuine Adirondack experience, this is for you.

What a wonderful find the ADK Inn is . We stayed in late Aug and listened to the Ausable River
from our rooms. We also sang songs around their firepit. Great hosts too, Wayne and Amy and Erin. It is central to Keene Valley,Placid , the High Peaks, and Whiteface. I recommend it highly.

This is one of the best new places to stay in the Adirondack Park. Close to great hiking, and convenient to get to Keene Valley, Keene, Elizabethtown, Lake Placid and Saranac Lake, the ADK Trail Inn is the newest endeavor by Amy and Wayne, the hardworking entrepreneurs of the Snow Goose Inn (another delightful, intimate place to stay), who are experts in hospitality and down-home graciousness. They are sensitive to food issues (like allergies) and support organic and locally produced goods. The Ausable River is just behind the renovated motel and the grounds are lovely. Comfortable chairs around the campfire under the stars in the evening adds to the relaxing atmosphere. In between Upper Jay and Keene, there's a wonderful feeling of being in the wilderness and what is especially great is that it is very close to the ADK Cafe! There is a wonderful game room with ping pong, billiards and board games galore. The large dining room/lounge area boasts a great selection of books and maps and there's always valuable advice and tips for adventures that are just right for you! Great for families and couples alike. Usually a loyal customer of the Snow Goose, I've already stayed at the Trail Inn twice and will be going back there the next time I'm in the Park!

This is an excellent value. We stayed in one of the 'vintage' rooms that is awaiting renovation and offered at a lower rate. We found the room perfect for our needs. The older style had a certain charm, a fridge was included in the room and the bathroom was small but clean with great water pressure. A decent hot breakfast was also included in the price of the room. Great value - we will return.

We were able to park in front of our room, which gave me a feeling of nostalgia. You can stroll to the nearby Ausable River. We sipped wine listening to the river rapids in front of a group camp fire and shared stories with other guests, whose kids were roasting marsh-mellows and dogs were running around. The owners, Wayne and Amy, who also run the nearby Snow Goose B & B, were very nice and helpful, giving tips on where to hike and to eat. They also helped us print out fishing licenses. The nearby town of Keene was one of our favorites in the High Peaks region, especially the ADK Restaurant.

Originally we had planned a 2-night stay but extended it to 3, just so we could stay at this cozy Inn, and enjoy more of the woodland charm of the Keene valley. Our room was very cozy and neat, with a little electric 'fireplace' in the corner to add to the log-cabin feel, complete with a bear-and-canoe themed bedspread! Absolutely loved it. The breakfast was also very good, with a nice selection of foods, also including something hot, like oatmeal, breakfast burritos, or eggs, depending on the day. I must add that there is a river right behind the Inn, and a game room, perfect for some late-night billiards or ping-pong. Many thanks to Wayne and the rest of the crew for an amazing stay!
