The menu is small, but the food is made with care, using local ingredients. Everybody who eats there seems to know each other and they bring their dogs. The coffee is weak.

unfortunately, paul's bakery is the only one in town, and we have heard good things, with the exception that its hours are quite irregular. They were closed both Thursday and Friday when we were in need of pies. :-( Maybe next time.

Paul's Bakery is a delight to visit as he dedicates his art to making the best baked goods you can find anywhere. His pastries, brownies, cookies,...actually everything he makes is of excellent quality and taste, His meals are also legendary as they are as creative as they are delicious. If you are passing by you must stop in and try some of his wonderful goodies.

The annual early summer opening of Paul's Bakery is every bit as welcome as the first warm sunny June days in this part of the Adirondacks. Open 4 days a week for breakfast and dinner, Paul's serves up outstanding pastries and light lunches to happy "regulars" and first-time visitors through the summer.

Although the bakery was severely damaged during Hurricane Irene flooding, it has been rebuilt even better, with a lovely wrap-around deck added to the screened porch seating. Paul's good taste and sense of whimsy are evident in the charming decorative touches; you are likely to enjoy your morning coffee in a mug created by one of the many outstanding local artisans in the Jay-Upper Jay area.

Breakfasts consist of pecan braids, muffins, sticky buns, croissants, flaky fruit pastries and much more. Lunches are often sandwich-soup-salad combinations, and are fresh and delicious. You can also order cakes and pies for special occasions.

Nancy and Doug (and Paul, when he is "in the house") keep things running with efficiency, warmth and humor. One of the best things about Paul's Bakery is that, no matter how busy it is, you are always made to feel welcome. Don't miss it if you're in the area!
