The Stanley Center for the arts is a true gem. Ornately decorated when it was originally constructed and saved by a dedicated local group. The "gingerbread" decorations within the theater are covered with gold leaf. A brand new candelabra created by Meyda Tiffany glass adorns the rotunda. A newly constructed annex provides full handicap access, while the enlarged stage allows bigger and better performances. The main entrance, the auditorium, and the stage have the classic '20s look and feel. Performances by major troupes, orchestras, etc. are held year 'round, so you need to check their website for dates and availability. This is a piece of the past that should not be missed.
