“Worth your $5 and more...”

This brewery tour is only $5 per person(2 drink tickets included) and worth every penny. I enjoyed the small working brewery and walking through while everything was happening. Our group was small and our tour guide did a great job of explaining the history of the brewery and the building. I really like seeing all the old bottles and how things have changed. When you get to the bottling portion it seems as if you are in an epsiode of Laverne and Shirley. After the tour you can get your 2 free pints plus try any of the other beers that are offered. I really enjoy trying local beers when I visit different places so this was a wonderful tour and well worth the money. This is a must for those visiting Utica and the gift shop is great too.

On a side note we actually decided to purchase the growler, filled with the tap beer of your choice, 2 pints glasses and 2 brewery tours for $29.95. With the tour you get to 2 drink tickets to use after the tour in the brew house. My husband likes to collect the growlers and glasses so this worked for us. The sign for this is not right when you walk in so you may have to ask about it. Have fun!

“Best Tour Ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

I have taken many tours of facilities like the brewery, but none were like this one. Our guide was very personable and knowledgable. The opportunity to see this facility is an experience I will remember for a long time. The memorabilia in the building was outstanding. Where else could you rub elbows with the CEO? It actually happened. An admission ticket gets you two tastings. If children are part of the group, they can get soda tastings.

“historic brewery”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

Wasn't sure what to expect from matt's, I know it's a big brewery that do a lot of contact brewing. But I was pleasantly surprised. The beer is obviously made with a lot of care, and the tour was great, very informative. The tasting at the end was good lots of stuff to try. The decor too is very gentlemans club-ish, very victorian. Loved and will be back. Also, the price is very good.

“A great way to spend an afternoon!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

The brewery tour in Utica was great! Parking is a snap with a lot right across the street from the gift shop. The tour gives you a history of the brewery taking you through different rooms filled with antiques, pictures, original bottles and of course the Schultz and Dooley mugs. You then visit the actual brewery and touur that. You finish up in the tasting room where you can have multiple sample glasses and two full mugs, if you are not filled up by then. Lots of other people to meet and talk to, so this is lots of fun to spend a few hours. The brewery is also located on a street that in the summer is party central. They have outdoor concerts at the brewery, local bars all have outdoor stages and you have your pick of what to eat.

This is a very good tour for beer enthusiasts. Pretty impressive how the beer is made and the process and the aromatic of beer is interesting
