We stayed here for one night to celebrate my birthday. From the start we were made to feel very welcome by the Landlady and as others have said nothing was too much trouble. The pub only had three letting rooms , two of which have showers only one has a bath. All of the rooms are over the bar / dining room and facing the main road to Stamford. Although the windows where double glazed there is still some traffic noise and although it did not bother us I can imagine it might be more of a problem in the Summer as it would be difficult to have the windows open without this affecting your sleep though a fan is provided in the room.
We had a lovely meal in the evening and the chips are to die for! I am a cask ale fan and this is an Everards house with 4 real ales and a real cider on draught during our visit. The present landlord and landlady have only been here since August so things might get even better yet. I can certainly recommend The Collyweston Slater for a meal,a good pint or a stay over,or as we did all three.

Room Tip: If a bath is important to you then make a request for the one room that has one.

There's not enough good words to describe The Collyweston Slater, from the moment we arrived until we left we were made to feel very welcome.

The pub itself has a huge amount of character along with the rooms. The food is great along with a really good selection of beers on draught to try. The landlord and Landlady are extremely friendly and made our stay very enjoyable with their "nothing is too much trouble approach" and it really wasn't as they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to make our stay so good. It has a really homely feel to it which can't fail to put in you a relaxed and good mood.

I couldn't recommend this place any higher, you are getting extremely good value for you money when staying here. Whenever we are visiting the area again we will be sure to stay here.

We had a Single night stay, very clean and comfortable en suite double room with roll top bath and shower, friendly helpful proprietors, Everards beer. Didn't have dinner there but breakfast was excellent. Cost about £10 for taxi into Stamford

We booked this through a third party site and we weren't disappointed. We had a very friendly warm welcome when we arrived. We checked in and was taken to our room which was absolutely lovely. The room was clean and very welcoming , it had plenty of tea .coffee, milk , biscuits and bottled water. The bed was very comfortable and the shower and bath lovely.
The breakfast was just cooked to our liking , cereal, toast and fresh juice was also available but we both had a hot breakfast . I'm not a sausage person but they were absolutely gorgeous. We had an evening meal both evenings, the portions were very generous and value for money and very tasty. The management and staff were very friendly and efficient and nothing was ever too much trouble.
We will be back when we stay near Stamford again. Ian and I whish you all the best in the future and look forward to our return . ( P S thank you for all the latte's with my breakfast) :)

Having decided to have a few days away my partner found a great deal for the Colleyweston Slater, which is not far from Burghley House. Stamford. We walked through the door and were immediately offered a drink.. We sat in the bar and when finished we were shown to our room, which was lovely. Nicely decorated, a comfy bed, spotlessly clean and lovely hot water in the shower. We decided to eat in the restaurant on both evenings, the mixed grill was good quality and big!! and the pie which we had the second night was also good. There is a lovely atmosphere in the pub, and we enjoyed sitting on the comfy sofa's. Breakfast was also first class, a choice of cereals, toast that you can help yourself too and also a pot of hot coffee on hand. They will bring a pot of tea if you wish, and the full english which my partner had was excellent, I had bacon and tomatoes and there was plenty of it all cooked fresh. Staff were attentive and friendly and we are looking forward to returning!!
