We stayed here for one night during January, the room (Harrod) was faultless, beautifully decorated, a large freestanding bath. Even though the room overlooked the main road through collyweston there was no traffic noise at all. Breakfast was very good. We chose what time we preferred to eat and was offered a good choice of breakfast food. We also dined here in the evening too, the menu is quite basic and typical pub menu style, but it all seemed to be homemade, portions were filling and good value for money. I do feel that the pub may be selling itself a bit short with the menu though, perhaps if the menu was a little more adventurous maybe it would attract a bigger audience. Overall well worth a visit and a nice base to stay if visiting Stamford and Rutland water.

we stayed here so we could visit friends in Stamford, it is a short drive to Stamford town which is very pretty and good for shopping. We had an nice evening meal, nice choice of foods, and was nice to sit on sofas by the woodburner. would reccomend.

We stayed here for one night to celebrate my birthday. From the start we were made to feel very welcome by the Landlady and as others have said nothing was too much trouble. The pub only had three letting rooms , two of which have showers only one has a bath. All of the rooms are over the bar / dining room and facing the main road to Stamford. Although the windows where double glazed there is still some traffic noise and although it did not bother us I can imagine it might be more of a problem in the Summer as it would be difficult to have the windows open without this affecting your sleep though a fan is provided in the room.
We had a lovely meal in the evening and the chips are to die for! I am a cask ale fan and this is an Everards house with 4 real ales and a real cider on draught during our visit. The present landlord and landlady have only been here since August so things might get even better yet. I can certainly recommend The Collyweston Slater for a meal,a good pint or a stay over,or as we did all three.

Room Tip: If a bath is important to you then make a request for the one room that has one.

There's not enough good words to describe The Collyweston Slater, from the moment we arrived until we left we were made to feel very welcome.

The pub itself has a huge amount of character along with the rooms. The food is great along with a really good selection of beers on draught to try. The landlord and Landlady are extremely friendly and made our stay very enjoyable with their "nothing is too much trouble approach" and it really wasn't as they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to make our stay so good. It has a really homely feel to it which can't fail to put in you a relaxed and good mood.

I couldn't recommend this place any higher, you are getting extremely good value for you money when staying here. Whenever we are visiting the area again we will be sure to stay here.

We had a Single night stay, very clean and comfortable en suite double room with roll top bath and shower, friendly helpful proprietors, Everards beer. Didn't have dinner there but breakfast was excellent. Cost about £10 for taxi into Stamford
