We loved the rural setting near a 700-acre horse farm, offering beautiful views of farmland on all sides from a lovely porch with comfortable seating and mature trees. I will talk a bit about location of the B&B which for us was ideal. The location is rural but nearby so many local attractions, we had much to choose from. Everywhere we went was ten to twenty minutes away--a highlight was Hugenot St in New Paltz which we would have missed but for the advice of our host. We initially came to bike but weather changed our plans a bit (biked the last day). Gardiner was the ideal location for our Walkill Trail ride. Our room was set up to our specifications (two twin beds rather than standard queen), immaculate, roomy, private with a private bath. There was plenty of closet space and the beds were very comfortable. Lots of natural light, lots of "floor space" (not cramped). The continental breakfast was perfect for us, coffee delicious. The hosts were gracious and helpful during our first trip to Ulster County and directed us to the best activities, travel, and dining. They offer bikes for rental and stored our bikes for us on days we were rained out. If you are a runner or walker, the area surrounding Serene Vista is safe, not much traffic, lovely rural views.
We will visit again! I plan to recommend SVBB to my cycling friends. The Walkill Trail is a treasure.
We had such a wonderful relaxing time at the spab&b and are already looking forward to returning.
Upon arrival, after taking in the spectacular view, we used the spa services and had a facial. Christina has such a calming personality that you right away feel nurtured and relaxed.
The room, as well as the rest of the house, was very clean and the bed comfortable.
We had the pleasure of enjoying Dan’s home cooked pasta meal with a BBQ touch and his Breakfast/ Brunch Huevos Rancheros. Both fantastic. We were joking around that Dan should consider giving cooking classes. Also enjoyed that Dan is cooking sometimes during the day which makes the atmosphere very relaxed but also makes the house smell very nice. Dan also picked us up and brought us back to the train station, we made a stop at the local farmer’s stand and picked up a delicious pie for home.
We also rented bikes at the spab&b and cycled to the wineries. Great workout on the hills and we were impressed by the quality of wine in the area. We saw deer both in Dan and Christina’s garden as well as during the cycling trip.
In summary, Dan and Christina are wonderful and we can highly recommend staying here!
