What I like about Maskars is that you can drive right up to the trees, park and start picking, no lugging your haul for half a mile to the car. You can also picnic right there under the trees if you like. We went late in Oct 2011 so most of the apples were gone but we still got a good amount and they were delicious. We visited the shops and the petting zoo. I would definitely recommend Maskars for a fun day but also you have to go early in the day to beat the lines and crowds.

If you don't arrive early, you'll be sitting behind all the citiots. Plenty of apples to pick. The staff are really nice. Plenty to eat too. Just arrive early.

Maskar Orchards is well run, clean and absoultely amazing. They allow you drive all through the orchard so with young children this is a huge plus. You can picnic all through out the orchard and there is plenty to do when you are done picking apples.

When you are done head back down 17A and right past Mount Peter Skiing is the Bellvale Creamery. Also, if you are there on a Sunday the Bellvale farm does a farm tour @12:30. It's about 45 minutes and they let the kids feed the cows. It was totally worth the trip!

We actually ended up relocating to Warwick after our first nice visit years back to Maskers.
Now we get to visit all the great Warwick apple orchards every fall.
The views of the valley at Maskers are amazing. As newcomers after a drive, we appreciated being able to our minivan drive right up to trees offering many apple varieties and being able to take a break for a family picnic in the car. If you have kids, try going to the bathroom in the nearby village by patronizing a local establishment prior to going here, especially if you come on a crowded fall or holiday weekend and dislike lines.
Even better, come on an off-peak weekend or weekday. AppleFest and Columbus Day weekends are the busiest, prepare for traffic.
The staff checks you out from right your car upon leaving and offers cold cider from coolers to purchase at the payment exit. (So bring a cooler of your own if you have a long trip.) Remember to bring wipes, a change of clothes for kids and wear old shoes or boots and to drive slowly on hills with caution, as all farms and fields can be very muddy here at times. Being prepared for this and for bees on the dropped apples makes for a better time...this is the rural country!

We make a yearly excursion to Masker's for apple picking. The kids LOVED to do that when they were young and we've made it an outing with friends too. Oh- and it's really easy for out-of-towners to get to.
