We're just back from a wonderful week's holiday at the Movenpick resort. I was travelling alone with my two young children and was a little bit nervous. I needn't have worried. The resort was clean, comfortable and safe. The staff were fantastic - attentive and friendly and just great with the children. The food is superb - loads of choice and really high quality. The Al Fresco Italian restaurant is especially good and the breakfast in the Orangerie has to be seen to be believed (about 40 different pastries and breads alone!). I must give special mention to a few people who were especially good to us: Mohammed in the recreation centre was very helpful, Jessica in the Kids Club was amazing with the children and always happy to amuse them if they wanted a change from the pool. Zara in the salon gave me the best manicure and pedicure I've ever had and delighted my daughter by giving her a "mini" manicure with blue nail polish! The cleaners in block 13 were just lovely. They did a great job of keeping our room spick and span but were also really sweet with the children. And Harby, our guide for the desert safari was great - really knowledgeable and again, fab with the kids. The restaurant and bar staff were all very good, as were the reception team and the pool attendants. Who does that leave ? Well, I can't comment on the general manager - but only because we didn't meet him (but I'm sure he's lovely too!). The resort itself is beautiful. Everything is spotlessly clean, carefully designed and well maintained. I noticed there was a lot of "polishing" going on! After being a little disappointed with our room (we were in one of the rooms that has yet to be refurbished), I soon found that it didn't matter at all. It was clean, the shower was powerful and the beds were comfy. So, Movenpick El Quseir has another fan. And, I hope, we will be back for New Year 2014. Just a couple of words of advice if you decide to join us: try to use the loos on the plane before you land at Hurghada (the airport toilets are appalling) and take a bottle of water with you for the transfer to the resort (it's quite a long journey - 1hr 40mins).

Many thanks for your review on TripAdvisor, s2keygirl!

It has been a great pleasure hosting you and your children at our unique Resort on the El Quadim Bay!

To watch one's children enjoying themselves while exploring the myths of the desert, playing around on the beach or even discovering the beauties of the marine life leave lasting memories for both, parents and kids alike.

We do hope to welcome you and your family very soon again and wish you all the best!

Mixed Feelings! Diving was excellent. Rooms were very good. Food was good (although we booked all inclusisve we were eating à la carte quite often - we can warmly recommend seagulls restaurant). Service was mostly very friendly (read below) but there is still some room for improvement. In a five star house we don't want to be lectured that we need a reservation for dinner. Ok, we got a table every evening. Still, a wording like "oh, despite the fact that a lot of people reserved a table already, we can offer you" would be appropriate. We had the impression that some of the younger staff did not fully enjoy serving guests. Finally one barkeeper told us how much he would like to work somewhere else. Too much honesty.

We have just returned(November/December) from our second visit to this beautiful oasis on the Red Sea. The whole complex is so attractive, built in the nubian style which seems so appropriate. We had nearly wall to wall blue sky for two weeks, with temperatures in the 80f. We tried three of the restaurants, which were all superb, our favourite being the Seagull. The hotel was immaculately clean, and the staff were attentive to all our needs, as well as being most friendly and helpful, from the very top to the bottom.

Room tip: Nive to have a terrace overlooking the sea

The Seagull's Restaurant is indeed a very popular venue for culinary delights in a perfect setting overlooking the bay of El Quadim - an ideal way to round up a most relaxing day on the Red Sea.

May we as well take this opportunity to wish you a wonderful upcoming festive season and a happy new year!

Hoping to see you again in 2013!

If you wish to finish a tour of Egypt with a few days on the beach with a small number of hotels then choose El Quseir. At the Moevenpick the SPA was excellent and we recommend Mohamed for a massage. There is also a shuttle for the town of El Quseir

Room tip: Rooms away from the swimming pool are quieter

Many thanks for having shared your holiday experience on TripAdvisor, Mejid!

A memorable tour through ancient Egyptian sights finds it ideal ending with some relaxing days on the El Quadim Bay, where dolphins frequently pass by and marine life offers exciting diving and snorkeling adventures.

We are glad to notice that you have as well enjoyed the massage treatments which are offered onsite and it is our pleasure to pass on your comments to our team.

The entire team is looking forward to welcome you soon again to our oasis of peacefulness and tranquility.
