What a resort!!! Service first class & facilities superb.

We spent 7 days recently and had a truly remarkable time, all of the staff, whether gardeners or restaurant staff made our holiday an unbelievable experience. Thanks to all the team at Paradise Cove. Pakrash, Daniela, Prince Phillip, Dev and many more made us feel as though we were the only residents at the resort.

Room Tip: Book any room they're great.

The generosity and welcoming nature of the Mauritian people at the Paradise Cove Boutique hotel blew us away and surpassed all expectations.... I celebrated my birthday with my husband at this hotel...it was a memorable experience ....we extend a big THANK YOU for the hotel staff for all their wonderful efforts in making the birthday one to remember. The hotel itself encompasses the word boutique in terms of privacy, individual attention, stunning French/Vietnamese décor. Access to the beach could not be easier via the peninsular side and the cove..we were spoilt for choice on what to eat from the great selection at the breakfast buffet and the Indigo restaurant on the peninsular side...we didn't feel the need to venture out to Grand Baie which was only 15 min car drive away as we had everything we needed at the hotel and left after a weeks holiday feeling like we've been lying on the beach for 2 weeks. THANK YOU Paradise Cove...we will definitely be coming back

We stayed at the Paradise Cove Hotel for our honeymoon in Feb. Overall we had a very enjoyable, peaceful and restful stay. The hotel was the ideal location for our honeymoon.

The hotel is a small, 5 star boutique hotel on the northern tip of the island. I believe there are 67 rooms in total. This meant that the hotel never felt crowded, despite being full for all of our stay.

Our room was located on the first floor and our balcony overlooked the lawn and beach area at the head of the cove. The décor was very pleasing with a colonial feel. The room was spacious with an enormous bed. We had no issue with the firmness/softness of the bed as highlighted by other reviewers. The bathroom was spacious with a bath and excellently powerful walk-in shower. The open plan cupboard/dressing area was good. The room had an effective air-conditioner which really helped.

There is a choice of places to sit during the day. Lots of open space considering how few rooms the hotel has. Closest to the main reception building was the main pool area which tended to be fairly quiet during our stay. Although the beach isn’t natural it was still a very attractive feature and an excellent place to relax. The peninsula was definitely the best. An infinity pool overlooking the ocean and northern isles plus a shaded lounge area which was fairly popular. Also, a great location to watch the sun go down. The peninsula has a number of ‘love nest’ sunbathing platforms. They were lovely, some overlooked the cove and some overlooked the ocean. These provided a very peaceful location to enjoy the day. Not surprisingly, they were very popular, you did need to get out early to claim one. I found 8am or a bit earlier was fine, not the 5am quoted by a previous reviewer.

There were always plenty of sun loungers available at some part of the hotel. We always felt there was plenty of space between us and other guests, ie we weren’t lined up in a huge row of sun loungers like other places I’ve been.

The hotel offers free water sports and I took advantage of a few of the activities. The boathouse facility seemed to be very well run to me and was an excellent addition.
The choice of restaurants was good, again, surprisingly so for a small hotel. Breakfast was in the main restaurant and was a typical buffet style plus a cooking station for eggs cooked any way you liked. The buffet had a wide choice of fruit, cereal and cooked items. Hygiene was clearly important with all containers kept covered. The staff frequently remembered our tea/coffee preference and room number when we dined there.

We were on a half board package and had lunch on some of the days we stayed. The Indigo restaurant on the peninsula was fantastic location to enjoy lunch overlooking the ocean. Lunch was also available in the main restaurant and bar. I think it was the same menu in each but varied every day. The food quality at lunch was good and the day we had dessert we were very impressed with the artistry on the plate.

Dinner was either at the main restaurant, XO or the cove. There was a different theme every night in the main restaurant which seemed to repeat on a weekly cycle, although the choices were different week to week. There were Mediterranean, curry and creole themes. We always found something we wanted to eat and I understand that the chef would have been happy to cook something individual for you if you wished.

We ate at XO twice. This was an Asian fusion type of restaurant which we were satisfied with. The best, however, is the cove. This is a seafood themed restaurant with tables situated on wooden platforms built on top of the cove. Very impressive and romantic. The seafood was good and on Valentine’s night we enjoyed a lobster dinner at a table set up on the beach.

The restaurant staff were excellent. I remember Reshma, Sangeeta and Deepak standing out for us. Also, the restaurant manager (unfortunately his name has slipped our mind), came across as very professional and totally in charge leading to a very efficiently run restaurant. It felt to us that the staff couldn’t do enough for us and were personally keen to serve us, rather than feeling like they were simply doing their job.

Each Wednesday there was a welcome cocktail party in the main bar attended by Raoul the hotel manager. We spoke to him a few times and he came across as someone very keen to ensure his guests thoroughly enjoyed their stay.

The main bar was a very relaxing place to enjoy a drink before and after dinner. Cocktails were a bit pricey compared with the UK. Most were around the £10 mark. Wine by the glass was similar but you could buy a bottle for about £17. Beers were cheaper at around £2 for a bottle of local lager. The all inclusive option is available for those who are keen on a cocktail or two. The bas closed at 11pm each night which felt a bit early on some nights. We don’t know how that compares with other hotels on Mauritius.

The hotel is fairly isolated but is only a short taxi ride from Grand Bay should you wish to venture out.

In short, a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Would certainly recommend to any couples.

Stayed on three different occasions at the Paradise Cove and on each occasion, we had a better time than the previous time! In terms of design, absolutely beautiful and so elegant and refined, but equally calm and relaxed too. The staff are genteel and kind and really want to do everything to ensure that you have the perfect stay. Would I recommend it? For sure and have done so already!

We flew out on Friday 14th hoping for a quiet, relaxing break - with warm sunshine, good food - and a little alcohol! We flew back yesterday content in the knowledge that we got exactly that - and more!

Hard to add to the earlier reviews however having read one that is less than complimentary my advice would be to ignore that one and read the others!

We were given such a warm welcome when we arrived bleary eyed - a very personal check in over a cocktail.

Staff were superb, always friendly and polite but never over the top. Their kindness and attention to detail seemed genuine rather than forced and fake. As others have said the managers were very visible and took time to talk to everyone. Sadly I can't recall all their names but Damien and Michael in the bar deserve a special mention.

Food in all restaurants was amazing - full of flavour and just the right quantities. Beautifully cooked and returned inspired. Service in the restaurants always excellent.

Our room was gorgeous and spacious as well as clean - which applied to all of the hotel. It certainly lived up to it's description of being quiet - just what we wanted. Plenty of space in all areas and often had the main pool more or less to ourselves.

It's nestled in a small cove - again that's exactly as described - but opens up into the gorgeous turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Perfect! There isn't much outside the hotel within walking distance - so not a holiday for those looking for lively nightlife. But plenty of activities on offer.

We went on the catamaran trip - highly recommended - swimming and snorkelling on offer. But also a barbecue lunch - amazing quantity of food and drink in great company. We returned merry and sleepy! Fantastic value for money.

Another day we had a day trip round the island in a taxi - the hotel sent us off with an extraordinary picnic box - only complaint was there was too much food!

We were genuinely sad to say goodbye to the lovely people we met and have both agreed it was one of the best holidays we've had.

We fell in love with the hotel - and Mauritius.

And now all we can see is out of the window is gloomy grey UK skies and all I can hear is the washing machine. Feel a little sad.
