Great room, great staff and delicious food.
In particular, thank you Kiran on reception, and Preetum in the restaurant for making such an effort in making sure we enjoyed our stay.
The spa was excellent and the massages first class.
The hotel and beach is very private.
    We would go back.

My wife and I stayed at Angsana Balaclava last week for 7 nights and it was perfect! From check in to check out the staff and service were 5 star! Vinay (who was exceptional) checked us in, we had a garden suite (room 319), good view of beach.

The room was spacious, lovely (huge) bath/shower area, spacious balcony, big comfortable bed, tea/coffee machine, ironing facilities, gowns, slippers etc.

The pools were nice, but too cold (as it is winter) to swim in, maybe one of the pools should be heated. The beach is nice, it is small but has plenty of sunbeds. The service on the beach is good, Alisha is very good. There are also some free watersports, such as kayaking and pedlos, which are nice to take out onto the sea.

We had half board, the breakfast was a buffet and they will make any type of eggs, waffles, pancakes you want. Dinner was a set menu but with 3 choices for each course. The food was very nice. The drinks were very expensive even for a hotel of this standard (£20 for a champagne cocktail!). Shailend in the restaurant was very good to us.

The resort is small but very nice, clean and quiet. We hired a car for one day which we booked through the hotel the price was reasonable (£50 inc gps), much cheaper than taxi. I would advise changing money at the airport in Mauritius the rate is much better than at home.

I would definitely come back to this hotel again and highly recommend it!

Room Tip: If you have a garden suite ask for a room on the 3rd floor for a better view.

Visited late May and had the opportunity to experience one night here. It is a stunning property. The rooms, the reception, the spa and the entire grounds are flawless. The attention to detail is exceptional. Angsana offers only villas and suites and has about 52 on offer making it a very intimate resort. The rooms were very spacious and either has a private balcony, garden or in the event of a spa room you get a private pool. Coffee making machine, choice of glasses, incense burners, aircon, fan etc. is all equipped within your room.

The physical quality of the resort is outstanding, but given the fact that you go away on holiday - I feel you would want to experience that Mauritian atmosphere. I found the atmosphere very dreary, uptight and dull. If you enjoy your privacy and do not really like to be crowded or socialize, then you wont go wrong, but if you like a bit of atmosphere even just a little then its not recommended. The island feel is just not there and its definitely not a family resort even though it caters for children, they do not have much activities for them.

Room Tip: private pool - request spa room private balcony - specify on your request private garden is on ground floor can easily access your pool areas by its not very private

    Dear Valued guest,

We thank you for your comment on Trip Advisor following your recent 1 night stay at Angsana Balaclava Mauritius.

Our resort has been designed to reflect a Mauritian feel with a fusion of Oriental, Occidental and African cultural influences architecture and we are pleased to learn that you found our entire grounds flawless.

Nestled in the secluded area of Turtle Bay, Angsana Balaclava Mauritius is indeed very small with its 52 suites, but however offers a hideaway ideal for travellers looking for privacy and relaxation and perfect for honeymooners.

It is true that our Resort is very quiet most of the time but however this is often considered as a quality rather than a disadvantage by most of our guests. Angsana Balaclava Mauritius is known mainly as a destination for couples and honeymooners but we do sometimes also cater for families and children and offer activities as well as tours around the island.

We would like to thank you once again for your comments and hope to welcome you back to Angsana Balaclava Mauritius for a longer stay this time.

I booked this hotel because of the good reviews on Tripadvisor. We stayed at the hotel for 10 nights.

When we arrived the hotel, Kiran welcomed us and showed us the room. We stayed at the garden suite for 7 nights. The last 3 days we stayed at a spa suite, because the bed on our room was not very good. Olivier and Kiran changed our room. Thank you, very good service!

The hotel is very clean, and have a beautiful garden, pool area and surroundings. The beach is beautiful, but a little rocky. Be careful if you have children with you. The staff who works on the pool and beach area are very nice and polite. Especially two young staff members (a girl and a boy). They ask every day how you are, and give you cold water and towels.

We had dinner and breakfast included. And he food was amazing! Top class food. If you love asian food, this is the place for you. The dinner menu was changed every day, and there was always different options. Great!

The rooms are beautiful. We stayed at a garden suite and spa suite. Both was very nice. Spacious, modern, clean and luxurious. The spa suite had a better bed and a private pool.

The staff at the hotel was great. I don`t remember everybody`s name. But we will specially praise Kiran, Olivier, Leck og Messe. They really did a great job. But there were two women (one at the reception and one in the breakfast). It looked like they didn`t like their jobs. No service at all. They should be grateful working at this great hotel, with so many nice colleagues.

The hotel is 15 minutes drive from Port Louis. The nearest town is Arsenal (about 5 minutes drive). Around the hotel its a lot of sugar canes and other hotels. Quite and relaxing area. We took a taxi and rented some bicycles from the hotel.

Overall it was absolutely a 5-star hotel. If you thinking about going to Mauritius for a vacation, especially romantic/honeymoon. Stay at Angsana Balaclava!
