Just spent 14 nights here in the Mauritian winter at a perfect temperature for us, if a little cloudy occasionally. The hotel exceeded our expectations with service and cleanliness and we were particularly impressed that they turned the air conditioning unit back on for our block after we made a complaint that the room was not staying cool at night. This is a cost saving measure many hotels employ in the cooler season and some people might not notice it but we did and were grateful for their response. The food was good and we liked having the different restaurant options to choose from. If you eat at the Chateau with your free voucher you may opt to return! You gave been warned! It is a special place in a unique setting with a lovely ambience. Eating at the beach restaurant and the Asian fusion restaurant can be enjoyed without adding too much cost to your all inclusive price if you choose sensibly. We enjoyed the buffet most days and the beach service fish and chips were good too! We would return to this hotel should we go back to Mauritius.

Room Tip: Take the prestige room option and ask for one on the top floor to get the best view.

We travelled in early July and stayed for 11 glorious nights. From the moment the taxi dropped us off the staff were amazing - Jay on the VIP beach / Reaz and Dev our butlers especially. We had the gourmet pass which was well worth it - the chateaux is a must if you like fine dining. We upgraded to the frangipani suite - which gave us the extra room which we loved ! The beach is fantastic but take sand shoes for the coral if going snorkelling as can be hard on the feet. With a nine hole golf course, stables, giant tortoises, helipad, and the boathouse with various watersports - always something to do. Feet in the sand breakfasts or evening meals is well worth a look - not something you will do everyday in UK. Fantastic experience and would recommend this hotel to couples but not families as not much for small kids to do

The Maritim is an excellent hotel choice for families travelling with children. Our children ranging in age from 16-10 had many options for hotel based activities each day. The skiing is excellent, as is the gold course and the equipment available for us all to use (snorkling, tennis, bikes, etc) meant there was always something on offer. All our children were able to dive, and that was a real highlight of the trip.
The rooms were lovely, and I highly recommend upgrading to a suite so you get the discounted dining and access to the private beach area and butler service (a must for booking hotel based activities and restaurants).
On arrival discuss with staff the 'all-inclusive food and drinks package' - makes for an easy and cost effective stay.
(If you are Australian and enjoy wine, take your own with you. The wines at the hotel were not great compared to what we are used to at home. Duty free you can take 2 bottles of wine and a bottle of spirits pp, so well worth it!!).
Highly recommend the hotel!

Room Tip: Upgrade to a suite!!!

My children enjoyed a spectacular experience swimming with horses in the ocean.
The guide was fantastic and it was good to know that he genuinely knew alot about these beautiful animals and was very caring.
This was an amazing experience and one ticked off "The Bucket List".
BLESSED!!!

Wonderful hotel set on an estate. Loads to do. Ideal for couples. Very romantic location especially the soft sand restaurant Need rubber shoes for beach because of coral in the sea and urchins. Very nice around the pool area. Infinity pool is lovely. I've been to hotels before where men have to wear long trousers at night but no short skirts or dresses are allowed in the restaurants so ladies take note. A lot of my outfits were short. The chateau requires men to wear smart clothes and closed in shoes the ladies were dressed quite posh. All in all lovely holiday. Would go back but got lots of places to see.

My husband and I revelled in a 10 night stay at The Maritim in mid June for our honeymoon and we couldn't have chosen a better destination and venue.
Upon arrival at the airport we were greeted by our own driver with an immaculate taxi and were pleasantly informed along the way of some of the history of Mauritius.
We were elegantly greeted at the entrance to the hotel and made comfortable in the beautiful reception area, where we were served with a fresh cocktail, prior to being shown to our room. Porters brought our luggage and didn't hang around for a tip as is the case in most places we've ever visited. The room was the size of a small apartment and pristine in both appearance and cleanliness. The roll top bath was huge and the chaise long was a nice touch to the room. Our bed was six and half feet wide!!! On the bed were a pair of towel sculpted swans with a scattering of red rose petals and a bottle of sparkling wine and fresh fruit platter was promptly delivered to enhance our welcome as newlyweds.
The restaurants were full of freshly prepared foods that were different everyday, and the choice was extensive..even providing at least 4 different types of lettuce as an example. The bread section was in fact a mini bakery!
The staff were very respectful and friendly whilst pandering to their guests to provide them with the ultimate holiday experience. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Chairs were always pulled out for the lady, glasses were replenished without so much as a nod etc. Drinks on the beach were brought to us regularly so no traipsing up and down to the lovely Quarterdeck bar. The spa facilities were luxury and the full body massage was to die for.
We bought kaftans and sarongs from a lovely guy on the beach who was licensed by the hotel, as was any of the others you might see there. The inclusive water activities such as water skiing and glass bottom boat were a nice little extra but even the things we paid extra for were well worth it, such as the tube ride and the guided bicycle tour.
All in all, there is nothing we would change about our experience and highly recommend it to anyone looking for that perfect honeymoon or luxury holiday destination.

Stayed at the maritim for 2weeks from the 5th July and it was fantastic. The food is incredible, the buffet is quality and a good variation. However La Maree was not so good as the fish was tough but the Asian fusion restaurant was the best chinese we have tasted.

The beach is fantastic and the snorkeling is even better, straight off the beach. Lots+lots of fish can be seen however the coral is sharp so beach shoes are a must. The service on the beach is very good but sometimes can be slow. A special mention for Jaffar who was excellent and the best out of a good bunch.

We went deep sea fishing which we booked with the hotel,it was also a lot cheaper than other company's. Me+my brother caught a huge Dorado which was excellent, and can't wait to go on another one again. I also wen't on a pedalo and took a telescopic rod with me on the pedalo and caught some decent fish. The boat house staff are hilarious and what the fish you catch!!

The rooms are spacious, clean and the view is beautiful. The mini bar is nice and always stocked up. The main bar is a nice atmosphere and good range of drinks. We did not use the pool as the sea is perfect enough for us!

Finally the staff are brilliant, extremely friendly and always want the best for you.

I cannot wait to return to this stunning resort.
