After all of the wedding planning and the big day it was so nice to arrive at the Maritim and be greated by such friendly staff.
We were supposed to be upgraded but due to the travel agents errors this was not possible but our room was comfortable and the hotel was great at making the best of the situation.
We took full advantage of the free activities and also relaxing by the pool was just what we needed.
The food on the all inclusive package was fantastic and there was enogh choice and different food every night. We would like to mention the guys in bar who looked after us for our stay they were friednly and knew exactly what we wanted and brought our drinks to us even before we had reached our table.
We flew Emirates and I must say this is the best airline I have ever flown with and we are now just saving up for our next visit to Mauritius.

We stayed at the "Maritim" between October 26th-November 10th 2008 on an All Inclusive Package & had an amazing holiday/wedding/honeymoon & would recommend it.
The staff were friendly, helpful, & would go out of there way to make you feel comfortable. At times it was a bit too much especially at meal times they would grab your plate & take it to your table for you:-).
We did alot of research on hotels in Maritius before we booked it & read the reviews on here, some were worrying but other's were good. I suppose it's mainly down to what the individual is used to. But our only complaint's would be that the service around the pool for food/drink's was rather slow but being brit's we got used to it & it' not a huge factor.
We found the choice of food in the restaurant's was superb & enjoyed the theme night's when the waiter's/waitresses all dressed up & the restaurant was decorated.
The wedding co-ordinator Daniella was lovely & answered all our questions. She also helped zip me up in my wedding dress as was alone. The day flew so fast & the gazebo on the beach was the perfect choice for the ceremony. Be aware that people around the pool/ground's will watch the bride walk down onto the beach for the ceremony but once your in there you forget your being watched. The photographers Salish especially was lovely & being a Liverpool supporter spoke to us most day's about footie. By the way the staff are really into footie and either support Man Utd or Liverpool so if you have any old shirt's take them with you as they are £100 out there. Alan & Nathan the sport's activity guy's were good fun & what a job to be payed to play table tennis & footie in the sun all day!
We met some nice couples mainly who were also getting married & other's that were on there honeymoon, celebrating special birthday's or wedding anniversaries so everyone's in good social spirit's. Dont delay book it today! Would return if we could afford it:-(

We stayed at this hotel during November 2008 having booked with vrgin holidays we stayed AI in a basic comfort room no 227 which in our opinion was good, more than adequate We visited Mauritius for a change from the Maldives This was our first visit to Maurtius

The hotel has a fantastic setting and location compared to other hotels in this area including higher and lower rated hotels. The grounds to the hotel are imense The hotel clearly have a large number of repeat guests many of which we met

The bad points about this hotel in my opinion are as follows they have stray dogs wandering around the hotel grounds this includes the swimming pool area / grounds/ beach where people are subbathing etc. Having spent 2 weeks at the hotel these are the same dogs you see on a daily basis. In addition they have at least 4/6 cats roaming everywhere including the main restaurant Belle Vue and the beach restaurant La Marre. I can understand the hotel allowing the cats due to mice/rats you would get in such a locations , but in the restaurant? Other bad points are the hotel has a no smoking policy in the main restaurant ( great). however in the other two restaurants they do not . In addtion service can on occassions be very slow in particular the La Marre beach restaurant at lunch times. In addtion there are alot of stair if any of your party have mobility problems

Other than the above moans the hotel is genrally very good. They have 3 restaurants the Belle Vue La Marre and Mon Desair ?? not sure of the spelling. Breakfast is buffet style usual choices exellent. At lunch time all AI guests eat at Belle Vue or La marre on the beach which is either buffet or from the menu. In the evening AI guests eat at the Bell vue or pay to eat at the other two restaurants which you pay to eat at. You get 400 rupess towards your meal and that may just pay for your starter or may not depending on what you order. We found the buffet genrally to be very good for startes and main courses the sweets I would describe as average. We did try the La Marre on one occassion in the evening I personally found the food to be of a very high standard but the smoking policy and experience in the restuartant certainly stopped me trying it again. The AI drinks etc were of a good standard and if it was not you asked for another.

The hotel to guests on AI also provides exellent water sports as part of the package although a seperate company runs it. you can water ski or as I did try to water ski till your hearts content they will teach you to sail. two diffrent type of boats They run boat trips including glass bottom boating ,snorkell trips twice a day. They have canoes pedalloes etc you can use these facilities all day with exception of the water skiing which they do for several hours in the morning and again in the afternoon. They also have a nine hole golf course all the holes with the exception of 2 are par 3. The course was well maintained etc. The hotel provide exellent sunbed/loungers around the pool/garden and beach area

We had a good holiday met alot of nice people we witnessed alot of weddings at the hotel well all the women got off the sub beds to witness them anyway. I would recomend this hotel and if I ever visit this island again I would stay at this hotel. I am afraid Maurutius does not have the WOW factor of the Maldives. But hey thats only my opinion try it for yourself I will keep trying the diffrent islands in the Maldives

We arrived early in the morning after a long flight. We were greated by friendly staff with refreshing ice cold towels.

Check in was easy and we were straight to our room.

The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings and the grounds are worth taking an hour or two to explore. There our giant tortises up by the stables.

My wife and I had read a few of negative reviews regarding the food. We are both fussy eaters and were a little concerned. the Belle Vue restaurant offers a wide ranging breakfast, cooked to order eggs how you like them. The lunch menu is set and didnt change while we were there but there was still enough choice, and the La Maree is open for lunch where you have a wider choice and you can sit on the beech. The bar also offers lighter snacks.

Mon Desir served an amazing 5 course dinner. I got the feeling that this is where the chef "shows off" his skills and the service is second to none.

We had Dinner at La Maree 3 times, once for the Lobster extravangansa menu. 5 courses, 4 of which are all lobster. Once again it was amazing. The Belle Vue also offers either a a la carte menu or themed buffet depending on the night.

The pool is big and dispite reports we were always managed to get loungers, even when we didnt get poolside till 09:30. The beech is peaceful and a gentle no thanks to the beech hawkers is all that is needed.

There are more water sports on offer here then i have seen else where, including water skiing and a glass bottom boat trip to the reef a couple of hundred metres out.

This was an amazing time and would be a place we would stay again.

on a final note, WIFI can be found at the quarterdeck bar

We were on our honeymoon at Mauritian Maritim hotel in November and had a great time. Everything was good organized and we did not have to worry about anything. All we did was enjoy!

Hotel is beautiful, spread out and beautiful designed. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. But thing that we loved the best is service. Service is excellent, everyone is so friendly and helpful. It is great that all staff speak at least two languages so we had no problem with comunication. We had a great wedding and wonderful time at Maritim hotel. We will surely come back in a few years to celebrate one of our anniversary.

Booked this Hotel via the Maritim website, as it was one of the few Hotels on this Island that did not send you down the all inclusive track. This worked out great and allowed me to get out at night to see the real social life of Mauritius. Hotel lived up to its star rating. Rooms clean and comfortable, buffet breakfast OK. The "non inclusive" restaurtants at the hotel were good. Other facilities at the hotel were a 9 hole golf course, and as it is directly on the beach, all the sea sports you would want. And of course the daily spectical of the weddings on the beach...not to be missed.

To get out of the hotel call a cab, as the ones in the compound charged over the odds. The restaurants outside were few and far between other than the ones in Port Louis.

I have been reading reviews on this hotel for some time and found that they varied quite considerably and my wife and I went with a little trepidation. We returned today and I wanted to say how much we enjoyed it. We had a junior suite and had the use of La Marre for breakfast which was a joy.
We found all the staff to be friendly and efficient, one small moment of forgetfullness was quickly forgotten. We were all inclusive and have no complaints about the food quality or quantity, yes there were quite a few buffets but where is that not the case. Much of the food was prepared freshly and we found that there was plenty of choice, and who says they dont do spicey dishes. there was one available every night at the main restaurant, well I was able to find one anyway!
Yes there is the usual problem of people putting out their towels at the crack of dawn but we went onto the beach and didn't have any real problem. The drinks available on all inclusive are fine and if you want the best brandy it's there but you will have to pay.
We had one dinner at La Marre which was most enjoyable and not that expensive but the cheapest wine is £24 and its a reasonable South African carbernet/merlot . The French wines are a ridiculous price and I wouldn't pay it.
The great bonus is the large number of activities which are included. We enjoyed a few rounds of golf and had fun with the archery. The water activities looked good but we didn't try any.
There are a lot of weddings but this does not take place to the detriment of other guests.
We had a great time and I think it was excellent value and it is one place which we might just go back to, We had the advantage of a suite and we did hear a few say that the rooms were a bit tired but there is a revamp due next year. Overall I cannot understand the negative reviews which have occasionally been posted.
