We spent two enjoyable weeks at the Maritim in August. We were on AI and found the staff always friendly and helpful. The hotel is laid out well and the grounds are beautifully kept.
The beach is good and although it is winter in August the temperature was about 23°C each day with a slight wind and most days were sunny. Turtle Bay shelters the beach from most of the waves and so usually the bay is calm. One part of the beach is for the sole use of people who have a suite. The hotel provides several activities free. It was a joy to be on the beach and not have to endure loud music being pumped out.
Most people eat in the main restaurant (the Belle Vue) which is a buffet service. There was a wide choice of foods available. There are other restaurants, a few of which offer a free limited choice menu with the option of paying for the a-la-carte menu. We enjoyed the Asian restaurant.
Our room was a nice size, the bathroom clean and the shower hot. Rooms had continental electrical sockets with one UK 13-amp outlet. A kettle and complimentary tea/coffee were provided. The minibar had some free and some pay-for drinks. A nice touch is that drinking water is provided daily in glass bottles to help save on plastic waste. The aircon and dehumidifier worked well.
It would be difficult for disabled people to stay at this hotel as there are quite a lot of stairs. There are no twin-bedded rooms.
The Wi-Fi worked everywhere – including the beach!
It was a pleasure to stay at the Maritim.
