Throbbing with so much fun and life, I love the mysterious extensions this beach invites you to explore beyond the rocky curves.

“Small but perfectly formed”
Reviewed 24 June 2013

Pereybere beach was our favourite in the Grand Baie area. It offers soft white sand without shards of coral, shade under the trees, snacks, a large swimming area which doesn't get too deep, parking and toilets. It didn't seem to get too busy either. Occasional hawkers for boat trips and jewellery weren't too much of a bother.

“Go to Mon Choisy”
Reviewed 6 June 2013

Pereybere is a small and not unattractive beach but it has a very public feel with concrete benches well used by local families set in the village. Not really somewhere where you would want to relax for the day !! However a good stop off for a cocktail on the way back to your hotel at sunset. There are much nicer, more natural beaches close by, stay on the bus for another 15mins through Grand Baie and go to Mon Choisy. A wide expanse of tree lined white sand, a few snack vans serving amazing curry lunches and fresh juice (magique kiosk fab !), white sand, comfy recliners and mainly deserted.

“Perfect white sand, even under the sea”
Reviewed 22 May 2013

The public section of this beach is only some 150 yards long. You can rent loungers and a sun shade at the left end, if you are staying for a while. The main attraction is the wonderful white sand, which extends under the sea until you are out of your depth. Often in Mauritius, sea shoes are necessary to counter the coral fragments. Not here. The water is spendidly translucent too - it's a good beach to seek out for swim while out on a day with a rental car.
