excellent resort, peaceful area, nice beach well arranged, bungalows hidden behind palms and other luxuriant vegetations, nice large suites or rooms quiet and well equipped, staff available and very pleasant.
plenty of luxury pools amongst the park. wonderful golf course and other sport activities. a meditating spa with charming staff.

two remarks: wifi might be better in the rooms and HD TV is not available, but the principle is outside!!

What a lovely peaceful and relaxing half term week in Mauritius. Very helpful and easy going staff. Suites on the beach are luxurious and the setting is picture postcard. All the usual watersports facilities. Food better some nights than others in the hotel. We only stayed for six nights but could have easily managed another week. Not too many Brits....

As a family, "The Club" offering was not really worthwhile as the food selection and ambience was not for kids, even slightly older ones. It seemed a bit incongrous to me that I could order a glass of wine here as part of my package, yet 10 meters away at the pool I could not and had to therefore pay additionally.

If going for a short break from the UK I would recommend night flights both ways.

Room Tip: Go for a suite looking onto the beach, ground floor.

I have to say that Dinarobin is my favourite hotel and resort I have ever stayed at. Having been before several times, I still walk away impressed each time i leave. Everything about it is classy and to a magnificent standard. We stayed in one of the executive suites a mere 5 metres or so from the beach. The room consisted of 2 large top floor balconies, 2 huge bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with 2 smaller beds, both with flatscreen tv's. You also get 2 large bathrooms with showers and baths and a large lounge area with a television and fresh fruit delivered every day. The rooms have tall, steep thatched rooves and are simply fantastic. They're massively spacious, tastefully decorated and well maintained.

The quality of the cleaning was excellent. We got chatting to our cleaner quite a bit, he had remembered us from previous stays, down to the point that he remembered what drinks we liked in the fridge! After he had been in each day, the rooms were immaculate. He also came back at about 7pm of an evening to top up the fridges and check to see if there was anything else we would like to request.

The quality of the food was magnificent. There is a buffet each night at the main restaurant which is decorated to match the food being served. I can remember that there was a Creole night, an oriental night, an indian night and various others. There is also a very swanky restaurant at the Dinarobin, although I have forgotten its name. The food in there though was too fancy for my tastes!

The beach bar is excellent for a meal in the daytime. Their best item however is not on the menu! If you go to the beach bar, I would highly advise requesting the fish curry. It's magnificent, one of the best curries I've tasted, god only knows why it isn't on the menu.

Equally there's a very substantial room service menu if you don't fancy going out.

The spa is excellent, I go in there at least twice each time I stay at Dinarobin for a sports massage and a relax.

The surrounding area is beautiful also. Having Le Morne as a backdrop is wonderful, and the white, sandy beach and brilliant blue ocean is divine. The staff at the hotel are wonderful, all really friendly and fun.

The cost of a stay at the Dinarobin can be heart-attack inducing, but believe me, you get what you pay for and the rest!

Room Tip: Try and request a room close to reception so that you don't have to walk far to get to the pool...

Wonderful location, nice beach, great scenery with the mountain. Good rooms. Very friendly and professional service; Excellent facilities together with the neigbouring Paradis-hotel. Good combination with peaceful atmosphere; but still all activities (mainly at Paradis) close by.Food was good for a resort, with Il Gusto being our favorite (didn't try Saveurs des Iles as they didnt allow young children there). Highly recommended for an active (but peaceful) resort holiday.

In short, although we were initially a bit frustrated with our experience at Dinarobin and with Beachcomber, things ended up to be satisfactory - but this is large high volume impersonal resort, so don’t expect much in the way of personalized service.
Upon arriving at the Dinarobin, the facilities are immediately impressive, very beautiful and inviting - with the backdrop/location of the resort as the most stunning feature. We decided to pay for ‘The Club’ which was disappointing, its a bit stuffy, the food selection any time of day is sparse and a very limited drink menu - and no matter what anyone tells you, there is no way to use Club benefits outside of the small club (there is priority service, etc). Our biggest frustration and disappointment was being told when we arrived we had to eat at the buffet that night (which was mediocre at best), because all restaurants were full, but that we would be able to make reservations for the rest of our stay the following day at the front desk. When we met with the reservationist the next morning she told us it was unlikely we would be able to get in anywhere, and laughed when we told her our top choice was Blue Marlin. We left with the expectation we would have to eat at the buffet the next 4 nights of our stay. We ate at the buffet again that night, but after complaining via Twitter we had 2 nights of reservations at Blue Marlin and La Palma - which were both good. The most infuriating part of the entire experience was when we did dine at the 2 Paradis restaurants we realized even though they are so unwilling to give you a reservation the restaurants are only about ½ full on average during their hours of 7-10pm each night. We almost brought our camera to take a picture the second night we were so astonished. We did use the hotel concierge services for multiple things and they were all very helpful and friendly.

We stayed at the Oberoi and Dinarobin during our stay in Mauritius and in comparison we would do the Oberoi 10 out of 10 times again.

beautiful location, very good restaurants and very nice staff ! We really enjoyed our stay on this beautiful Island. Amazing both for relaxing holidays and adventurous sight seeing. The only tiny flaw was the isolation of the rooms and the leck of WiFi in "the Club".

We recently spent a family holiday at Dinarobin, given the great reviews here we were super excited and looking forward to spending a fab holiday, unfortunately the hotel failed to deliver big time!

The property itself is really good, rooms are spacious and clean, the pool clusters are nice especially if you're a group, property is well maintained and having Le Mourn mountain as a backdrop is simply spectacular, but it really stops at that!

Food was mediocre, don't go on HB- it's better to have dinner elsewhere at any close by property. Don't get me wrong, there were items that were okay at dinner, but neither the variety or the quality delivered and the recycling of food was way too obvious. In fact the only good dinner we had was my dad's birthday dinner and that was a private function.

The executive lounge is a joke, food and ambiance are really bad, so don't bother with that.

The spa was another let down, it's clarins and all, but if you've tried Asian spas you'll know there's a lot missing. I think the hotel needs to invest in some therapists from the far east.

The kids club was good, our kids actually enjoyed it, although there are no scheduled activities- not sure if that was because there weren't many kids.

The sister hotel Paradis is just too crowded and loud, so if you're staying at Dinarobin I doubt you'll enjoy Paradis.

All in all an ok vacation, at not so ok prices and a long 7 hours flight from Dubai!

Room Tip: Don't go for an executive suite, you'll pay extra for nothing.
