“Fantastic Location, Beach front rooms a must”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

The location is fantastic. If you are looking for a hotel that sits on the beach surrounded by calm water from a natural lagoon and on the side of the island that has the most spectacular sunsets then this is the place for you.
We found most staff very friendly and when we complained about fumes from the room below where staff were repolishing outdoor furniture they were on to it in 5 minutes, moving the work to another area away from guest rooms.
I recommend booking both the beach front deluxe rooms together with half board as you have 8 restuarants to choose from for dinner including restaurants in the adjacent Beachcomber property Dinarobin. You can get to the Dinarobin easily by golf buggy from reception. We enjoyed all the restaurants...for great views of the ocean Blue Marlin is good and we also enjoyed Il Gusto in the Dinarobin. The main buffet resturant has all the menus in the foyer including the set menus if you are on half board and I recommend checking these out mid morning and booking ahead.

I was a little dissapointed with the day spa. I visited the spa to make a booking, the staff seemed confused about what time they could offer me. They also had a special deal where you have 3 treatments and get 20% off but be warned if you book this as you do not have the full choice of Clarins branded treatments that you will find in the spa menu in your room. This resulted in 20 minutes of 'discussion' prior to my treatment which was not the stress free experience I was hoping for. Make sure you ask which treatments you can have with this special offer before selecting from the menu as even though it is a branded Clarins Spa the special offers do not generally cover the Clarins body scrubs or massages.

The beach front does have hawkers selling stuff but they don't hassle you and just move on when you give them a polite no.

BE AWARE...the coastal road to Paradis is closed due to rockfall, this is not an issue at all as transport can either take you through the mountains or through the interior of the island but be warned when using the taxi service as they will ask for a supplementary fee because of the alternate route which is just a money grab as the transport time is the same. The hotel organised our pickup at the airport using White Sands tours and they were great. The road will probably be closed for 6 months so I recommend organsing your airport transfers ahead of time and the hotel is happy to assist.

All in all this was a lovely stay and I would stay here again.

Room Tip: The beach front rooms are either 2 or 3 storey. If you are on the ground floor you will have direct...

Hard to add much to the previous positive reviews. We had a wonderful stay in the Paradis. 2 large comfortable junior suites with nice views from the spacious patios. Great choice of food in the multiple restaurants including those at Dinarobin. Don't miss the delicious salads prepared specially for you on the beach by Rico! Wonderful memories of swimming withe dolphins during an amazing day on a catamaran. Beautiful golf course was really enjoyable to play. Can't wait to go back!

We did stay with a party of 9 people in the Le paradis in Late April / Early May 2014. The bigger part of the family stayed in one of the villas, one son with his girlfriend in one of the suites. Location of the Hotel is perfect, the service very very friendly and people are generally helpful. Food in the specialty restaurants is very good and the opportunity to also use the 4 restaurants in the sister Hotel adds additional value. The Suites are OK and we would all benefit from the Villa and the services around it which made this a memorable stay and we are enclined to return.

Room Tip: Look for Villas or stay on the left side of the pool

We stayed at the " le Paradis" for a short break in May and really enjoyed everything ... the resort, cosy suite & large balcony, wide and fine food selection, leisure facilities, breathtaking location along a white sandy beach in a turquoise lagoon, famous "Morne" hill just on the back of the beach and resort.

And of course we really enjoyed the service and the friendliness of the Mauritian people in general, great hospitality.

We'll be back soon .

We stayed as a family of 5 for a week in April 2014 at the Paradis Hotel. Paradis is a lovely hotel with great rooms and a great family atmosphere. The beaches are awesome and much better than at Dina Robin. Any room choice is fine as none are more than 50 meters from the beach. The best breakfast is at the Blue Marlin overlooking the boats getting ready in the morning, send the kids to the main restaurant to eat by themselves. Dinner is best at the L’Harmonie Restaurant at Dino Robin, we checked the food every evening and the food at Dina Robin was at least twice as good as the Brabant main restaurant at Paradis. The children's food is better at Brabant, so send the kids to eat at Brabant if they are old enough or sit with them and go later to Dina Robin. Drinks prices are the same at both hotels. Remember to ask for a can of coke, ect; if you don't, you get only one glass and lose out on refilling your glass from the can. Price is the same.

There are a couple of boat operators on the beach to go on Dolphin trips, to ski, etc. They all only take cash, which you can draw from an ATM at the main gate (10 min walk or ask for a golf cart to take you there). You get a much better exchange rate than at the hotel. You can negotiate the price down, we paid 5000 Rupees for a 3.5h Dolphin swim trip and 3500 Rupees to water ski for an hour (including ski lessons). We used Nicolas Wong (his boat is called Albert), he was awesome with the kids and has a great crew. We saw many dolphins (go early at 6:30 local time to be the only boat, later there are many boats around the same pot of dolphins) and were within 2m of the dolphins.

Do not go on the small sail boats or windsurfing with your sun glasses, you do fall off and lots of people lost their sun glasses and swimming goggles in the lagoon.

The ladies dress smart in the evenings and some of the men also, so remember to bring smart casual evening wear...

Enjoy your holiday!
