This hotel is lovely. It has the best beach on the island and is in a good position for the best weather, even in their Winter.
The staff are friendly and helpful and do everything they can to make your holiday perfect !
We had a beachfront deluxe room which was just in the best spot and it was great to enjoy the lovely sunsets from the beach just in front of our room.

I have stayed at this hotel several times and keep coming back twice a year for the past few years. The hotel site is splendid: along the sheltered south west coast of the island, it covers a vast expanse next to wonderfully clear sea water, long quiet sandy beaches, the majestic Morne mountain and a magnificent 18 hole golf course. The entire site is lush with palm trees and other trees that make for a totally pleasant surrounding. Multiple water sports facilities are available as well as tennis and gym. The building itself is nicely laid out in an airy design so that one can enjoy the nice weather whilst still being sheltered. Several restaurants are available and there is usually a wide choice of dishes. The hotel is in a secluded area and nothing much in its vicinity. Nearest village is about 8 minutes car drive from the hotel. Only slight disappointment during my last visit was that the fish served was not the usual premium quality that is usually served ... In spite of this, the hotel still remains my favorite in Mauritius and great for those who are looking for sun, sand and sea.

We stayed at the Paradis in June 2014 for 14 nights. In short: the hotel, the staff, the food, the sports center, the beach - everything is amazing.

Hotel:
The hotel is located in a beautiful landscape. The Le Morne Brabant is close to the beach and makes the scenery even more exciting. It takes about 1:20h to reach the hotel from the airport. The compound of the hotel is huge. Including the sisterhotel Dinarobin which is right next door, it takes about 30 minutes to walk from the north end to the south end. The hotel is beautifully integrated in the landscape and gardens, making it look less like a huge hotel. The hotel provides enough space for taking a little walk or even for running (if you don't want to use the sports center for running). In front of the hotel there is a small shopping mall (shops only, no supermarket as far as we know), which was closed in June because of low season. Note: there are no restaurants close to the hotel!

Rooms:
We stayed in a Junior Suite. We liked the location of the Junior Suites a little better than the location of the Deluxe Rooms. But any room is just fine and every room is located close to the beach (maximum 1 minute walk). The room was spacious. The furniture was totally fine. Of course the rooms are not totally modern but the style reflects the style of Mauritius. To us it all seemed very well arranged. We are very disappointed about previous ratings here on Tripadvisor that mention the rooms looking old and worn out. Please remember this is an island and why remodel all rooms if they are totally fine? I wonder if those people have any idea about sustainability...
The bed was very comfortable, they offered three different pillows. The closet was big enough to store all the luggage.

Restaurants:
All guests are also able to use all restaurants at the sister hotel Dinarobin. Altogether, there are 8 restaurants (the hotel website describes each in detail). In June the hotel was pretty empty, so we were able to book a table for any restaurant until that very same day. During high season they told us there is a wait of a few days for certain restaurants. You can of course always eat in the buffet restaurant and since there is also a buffet at the Dinarobin and the buffet offers a huge variety, there are still good options, even if the smaller restaurants should be booked. We do not (!) understand how people in previous ratings complain about the lack of variety or quality of the food. The buffet themes repeat after one week, but oh well - there is 8 (!) restaurants and even if you get the same buffet theme twice, there is still so many different choices that it should be easily possible to make it a totally different dinner for yourself.
We don't want to suggest any of the restaurants - they were all really good. The Il Gusto is a little more exclusive, the Saveurs des îles is not for children under 16 and also more exclusive. The Blue Marlin maybe has the best view.
All menus of all 8 restaurants (also the buffet) can be looked at at the lobby, so you can check the dinner menu before booking your table. For lunch we mainly ate at the Blue Marlin because we liked the atmosphere, the waiters and the food (for lunch they offer about 25 mains).
We were on a full board plus package so the lunch was included, but prices for a main were about 680 (clubsandwich with fries) and 850 (chicken with vegetables and rice) – in case you are not on full board.
Certain drinks are also included when you book a full board plus package. Otherwise a beer is about 220 rupies, a glass of wine about 350/400. A bottle of water 110 rupies.
The service at the restaurants was always good. Only one night we had a waiter that first served cold food and then complained about working too much, not earning enough money, his children crying every night because he is never home... That was our only (!) experience where we felt that someone was asking for a huge tip.
There are no restaurants or supermarkets anywhere close to the hotel. But in our opinion a half board is enough. For lunch you can get great fruit salad from the beachvendors or a crepes at the bar in the afternoon as a snack.

Beach:
The beach stretches all along the front of the hotel and all rooms. More or less the beach is a little divided into small areas where you can find your favorite spot. Swimming is possible without swimshoes because even though there are some rocks and corals in the water, most parts are sandy. Nonetheless swimshoes are recommended and we always wore ours.
There are some beachvendors – most of them very nice people! We were very interested in the local culture and social system etc. and they are happy to give you information about their country, even if you do not buy anything. The vendors need a license to enter the hotel, so you will pretty much see the same vendors every day.

Sports Center:
Most activities are for free. You can rent kayaks, paddleboats, go water skiing etc. Three or four times a day they offer a snorkling trip which takes you to corals not far from the hotel. They also provide snorkling equipment. But since it is also worth it to snorkel right at the beach, you should bring your own snorkling equipment because the hotel only provides their equipment when you join the boattrip.
It’s also great to rent bikes (not free of charge but cheap) and take a trip along the south coast to Bel Ombre.

Staff:
All of them very friendly, always in a good mood that makes you feel very welcome. We changed our room after one night because of a small issue and several people followed up on us if everything is ok now with the new room. They either really care or are really good at making you feel they care. Most of them have pretty good English. If you like to chat with them they are happy to talk to you but they will never bother you. We really liked how the staff seemed to have a good working atmosphere among each other. It seemed they really enjoyed working there.

Bar:
Even though it was low season the bar offered different entertainment every night. Prices are not cheap but European standard (milkshake 200 rupies, most cocktails under 500 rupies, crepes in the afternoon 60 rupies).

We were a little worried about the weather we might get in June (it’s winter in Mauritius). But the weather was just fine. We got just a little bit of rain, mostly at night. The temperature was never under 24 celcius, the water was just as warm.

We were also worried to be in a crowd of kids because of previous reviews. We are sure that there are more kids around during peak season but we only saw around 5 kids.

The Paradis might be the best hotel in Mauritius. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did! We hope to be back soon!

This hotel is pure paradise! We celebrated a friends wedding for 10 nights and in that time the resort and it's amazing staff were faultless. The location is ideal for family, couples and groups of friends, particularly those with surfing/kitesurfing interests. A short 5 minute car trip takes you to an amazing break to SUP, kite board etc. The pool and bar area that wrap around the edge of crystal perfect turquoise water is heavenly. Breakfast has an amazing variety and the afternoon daily crepes adds a cherry on top of a stress free, sun drenched day! Amazing!

I have been to Paradis several times and the hotel is still a fantastic hotel! Very good service from everyone, great food, beautiful white beaches, a turqoise lagoon with crystal clear water, beautiful surroundings and just so relaxing.

I tried the massage at the spa and it was also great!

We had a very nice Deluxe front room which was with direct view to the blue lagoon.

The only down side is the very expensive drinks in the bars. They are far too high, even for a 5-star hotel. I have seen this mentioned in many reviews for the Beachcomber hotels. I think Beachcomber needs to adress this. Maybe this is the reason why there were very few persons in the bars, hence the ambience was lacking every night. The live entertainment had just a few people watching. Otherwise than that I can highly recommend the hotel to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings, with great service, great food and lots of free water sport activities. I am sure we will be back there next year.

After having the best experience of our lives at Le Paradis I can honestly say that I have a little more than Holiday blues on returning.
The service in every aspect of the hotel was outstanding and after spending two weeks there my husband and I felt at home.

I would definitely recommend room 138, the views are spectacular.

I couldn’t fault any of the restaurants as each have their own unique twists.
If you have the funds I would also recommend leaving the complex for a day and hiring a car. On the way back from visiting Port Louis we stopped off at a nature reserve and saw the giant tortoises which was a first for me.

Our wedding coordinators were fantastic and would 100% recommend going to Le Paradis for a wedding. Every detail was accounted for and the best part of it was that I was sunbathing 3 hours before our wedding, Fantastic!

I could write hundreds of amazing things about this place but I would certainly run out of space!

Thank you for the holiday/ wedding of a lifetime Paradis, we'll be seeing you very soon!!

We stayed in this hotel at the end of May for our wedding. There were 15 people with us in our party and it could not have gone any better! The hotel is gorgeous, and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. We stayed in a beachfront room which was literally right on the beach. The room itself was incredibly spacious with a huge bathroom. The 4 restaurants within the hotel complex are all to a high standard. We were on full board so we had 3 meals a day and i dont tink i ever had a bad one! The drinks can be a little pricey, so if you can, maybe go for full board plus which gives you a bottle of wine at night and a drink at lunch etc..
Our wedding coordinators were Isabelle and Tina. We were a bit stressed when we got there as we hadnt organised too much prior to arrival. They were aboslutely brilliant in sorting everything out for us with very little stress at all. They planned everything, and in such short time as well. They made the day absolutely perfect. We had the most amazing holiday and wedding we could have wished for, and i can safely say we will definately be returning here next year.
