“Paradise can't even describe the setting”
Reviewed 8 September 2010

My fiancé (now wife) and I booked into Paradis for 10 days with 13 of our friends and family joining us for a beach wedding at the resort. The location is fantastic - white beaches, palm trees, clear turquoise water and sunsets that belong on postcards. The sense of arrival with Le Morne, the golf course and the reception area is dramatic. Deluxe Beachfront Rooms are large with even bigger bathrooms and the view of the water is great. The staff are fantastic!! Only the buffet waiters at the main restaurant were perhaps overworked and not as friendly or accommodating, but everyone else and every other restaurant at the resort caters to their guests. I did like the fact that the buffet had a new theme every night and that there was a half board credit for the a la carte restaurants. La Palma is a must for any seafood lover!! On the day of our wedding, every person involved from waiters, barmen to kitchen staff ensured that our and our guest's every request was fulfilled with a smile. It went beyond service and felt as if the staff were our friends helping out at a party. Special mention has to be made about Brenda, the wedding coordinator. Her wicked sense of humour and positive attitude made the run up to our wedding and the day itself utter perfection. Nothing was impossible and she accommodated every request and more. Even though we knew what we had chosen for our wedding at the resort, on the day we were overwhelmed by what she had put together for us. She exceeded our expectations! Our guests who had no idea of what we had planned were blown away. When it started to rain during our reception on the beach, all the staff relocated the bar and the desserts to the the golf club so that the party could continue. Paradis has set a benchmark for us and we'll definitely be back!!

My husband and I were lucky enough to win a 7 day trip to Le Paradis during August 2010. We loved the location of the hotel on the Le Morne penisular although it was quite windy most days. Having spoken to a Mauritian guy on the plane over, we were expecting the wind as he says that this is the windiest time of year on that part of the island.

We stayed in a Junior suite which was very spacious and beautifully decorated. We noticed that there is a lot of work being done in the residential section of the hotel with a number of suites/rooms being upgraded while we were there. However, there was no noise or inconvenience at all!!

The weather was quite erratic during our week with rain showers most days. But still enough warm sun to get a decent tan and to enjoy some of the water sports. It was great to be able to snorkel directly off the beach in front of our room. Not as many fish as directly over the reef but no currents to deal with, which made it really enjoyable. Lots of fish is you spent time in the water. We also got in some sailing on the Hobie Cats which was great. Previously we have stayed in Grand Baie and the sailing isn’t as good there due to all the boats moored in the bay. Don’t miss the glorious sunsets.

The food was good and plentiful. We preferred to have breakfast every day at the Blue Marlin as it is more intimate and closer to the beach. We had our evening meals at the buffet at Le Brabant and never got round to trying the other restaurants as we enjoyed it so much. At lunch time we either had a baguette from the bar or a fresh salad or fruit salad made on the beach at our sun loungers. Really delicious option! And the pancakes at the bar each afternoon are a must if you have a sweet tooth.

As the evenings were a bit chilly we didn’t sit out and listen to the entertainment every evening. We also found that the 10pm start of the dance shows was a bit late during the winter months.

A really nice option that the hotel lays on is a shopping trip to Black River by bus. A good way to spend a couple of hours and to pick up some gifts to take home. The bus stops at a brand new shopping mall with up market shops. However, as we wanted to stock up on tea and rum we walked slightly further north (about 200m) and found the London supermarket which had everything we needed.

As with our previous trips to Mauritius we found the staff very pleasant and helpful without being too “in your face”. Especially Ashley and Sunil at the bar who were great!!

All in all a wonderful hotel in a beautiful setting.

Stayed a week in a paradise during our honey moon and I can really recommend taking a break here. Everything just worked superbly ranging from eating, sleeping, sailing, snorkeling and delivery of heart burn medicine to our room.

Naturally when traveling in style, you pay in style, but I really feel we got value for the money!

Myself and my husband got married in the Paradis and found it all we could have wished for!
We had a fantastic welcome from the staff who were always happy, friendly and very willing to help. Everything was explained to us on our arrival with fresh drinks. Our wedding planner - Brenda was fantstic and made our day as unique as possible and its something we will never forget!
We reccommend this hotel and supurb surroundings to anyone and we will be returning as soon as we can (maybe every anniversaire!)
