We stopped here for lunch because on this part of the coast Rd there are not many restaurants with a sea view, and 1974 is only open at weekends for lunch. We sat alone on the balcony upstairs. Some of the prawns I had were so tough they were inedible, I wondered if they had been defrosted in a microwave. Whilst eating we noticed a steady queue of diners at the noodle roadside shack with envy. A couple of days later we went there to Pierre's noodles and enjoyed a much better and cheaper lunch.
