My experience of Indian food is quite limited, but my wife has worked in India. This place is truly exceptional.

“Most enjoyable Indian food ever.”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

Was my wife's description of the meal we enjoyed recently. Considering we had traveled through India late last year, we were very happy with the food and service offered.

“Best Indian in Mauritius”
Reviewed 2 September 2013

I have had great curries in London and Delhi and yes this is very good but just short of the best around. The setting in the Tousserock is fantastic, food flavoursome but lacked a bit of spice for my palate, wine list could do with more varietal choices, the staff excellent and perhaps a bit on the expensive side.
Nice touches, like dividing our appetisers, chicken kebabs, samosa and pakoda, onto three separate plates nice attention to detail. Mains; Manglorean prawn, Thankgdi Murgh and Palak paneer all enjoyable. The staff are a highlight, attentive and helpful without being over bearing. All said and done, if the opportunity arises I would return here.

“Outstanding Indian cuisine and experience”
Reviewed 7 July 2013

A real treat! My wife and I are hooked on Indian cuisine and this restaurant is one of the best around and ranks amongst the very best in London.Situated in the special Tousserock Hotel in Mauritius this is a gastronomic experience. The decor and service superb and the the wine list good. It is rather pricey especially the wines so keep it open for a special occasion. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated with an open plan spotless kitchen , gracious furniture and a special thatched roof with what looks like teak inlays. There are various exotic Indian options together with more traditional dishes with a twist beautifully presented. U can also choose the tasting menu where there are also wine options after each course. Desserts are decadent! This restaurant is highly recommended. Amazing restaurant for a special occasion or just to chill with your loved ones. They now for the convenience of guests offer a kids menu, which is a good idea, but don't recommend this very special restaurant for kids at all.

For lovers of Indian cuisine, Safran is second only to Mint Leaf in London in my opinion.

Wonderful subtle flavours in a near perfect setting--an experience not to be missed.
