A v last minute decision on my behalf and email sent to trekkingatlasmountains and within a day my itinerary was booked! 2 days trek from Imlil to the Toubkal peak (with overnight stay at base camp - where I met others from around the world doing the same climb) followed by a less demanding trek on the 3rd day to Berber villages and surrounding areas. It was an amazing experience with breathtaking scenery! - I'm planning to do this again with a group of friends next year! My guide was Ibrahim Amzil- an official guide, young, fit as a fiddle and bag full of energy! He can run down a mountain (almost vertical) quicker that you can think (no joke)!!!! I ended up calling this guy "superman" because of his ability to climb/descend a mountain like i've never seen! Amazing, v friendly guy and a true friend! He had good spoken English/French, v humble and was supportive/informative throughout the 3 days. Ibrahim knew a lot about the trek, the region and would happily share it. A new friendship for sure and good memories. Finally high praise needs to go to the cook who accompanied us on the trek! The food was delicious and he made THE best tagine ever - after an 8 hour trek on the 1st day, trust me it was good!! Highly recommended both trek and guide! Thanks to them both!

Wow what an unexpected beauty they are! I thought Morocco would be all dusty roads and desert, but how wrong i was! If you want to get a sense of the real Morocco, visiting the Atlas mountains is a must! The Berbers are very welcoming people and their villages with in the mountains are hidden treasures. We were very lucky to have a personal guide who spoke astounding English and took great care of us both, watching our every step on the rocky paths to ensure our safety. The waterfalls are pretty and refreshing stops in the African heat where people from all different cultures gather together to bask in the sun and take in the stunning views around. The souks in the mountains have the best variety too and its nice knowing your money is going to good people that need your cash rather than the harsh hagglers in inner city areas. Trekking amongst the olive and apple trees of the Atlas mountains truly was a humbling experience that took my breath away. Some of my highlights were taking a short camel ride up to the start of the trek, seeing monkeys living in the wild and enjoying a delicious Moroccan feast at the foot of the mountain whilst paddling in a stream. Next time we will make it to the top!

I have recently done a 1 day excursion around Imlil Valey and 3 days of the circular toubkal mt. trek. I came alone and had 3 person joining me. Our guide was Ibrahim Amzil- an official authorized and very friendly guide with good English, French (of course..) and other languages, with a broad knowledge although his reletively young age and the ability to run down hill fast as a mountain goat. The trek was amazing and a bit challenging and we finished the trek with new friendships and good memories- great experiance! Highly reccomended both trek and guide!

After two days in Marrakesh, my boyfriend and I wanted to get out of the city. We decided late Monday night to try to go to Atlas mountains. We emailed Ahmed and got a response that night! Ahmed arranged a taxi to come pick us up Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. The drive was just one hour from Marrakech,
We start the trek from Imlil Our guide Mohammed was great- always helped us with difficult bits, knew the area really well, he was very friendly and encouraging
(we were absolutely inexperienced) He managed to get us safely to the summit and back, what a joy!
Definitely would recommend.

booked the 1 day trip to the berber market and then walk to the berber village and lunch,,I cant praise it enough !
Lahecn was a brilliant host and guide, we felt very comfortable with him and had fun with him as well as being educated in berber life.
Lahecn is so knowledgable and answered all our questions and is very enthusiastic. The trip to the market was an eye opener and Lahecn showed us all of it..the meat market was not for the faint hearted .. this is berber life not the touristy souks...it was great as we were the only tourists there such a refreshing change from marrakesh centre.Lehcn made us the most fantastic cup of tea with fresh herbs he bought at the market and the he got us some fresh doughnuts
the walk to the village.....well the scenery was breathtaking and so relaxing..we juts chatted all the time with Lahecn..he was great company and very patient with the amount of photos and filming we kept stoppin to do.

the vilage we went too was great and the family we had lunch with were lovely and had fun conversing with them via Lahcen. The food was excellent and so much better than the rubbish we had in the hotel....we sat in true berber style on the floor and used the home made bread and hands to eat the meal
the walk back was lovely and different scenery from the walk up..we saw more of the mountains which was very dramatic
The day was perfect and would recommend 100%..forget the tourist trips where you see nothing different... book with Lahcen and Ahmed and see the real Morroco and make a nice friend in Lahcen...thanks JLahcen for such a memorable day and also our driver who picked us up at out hotel and drove us through the countryside to the Atlas Mountains to meet Lahcen and Ahmed Abdul...again a lovley guy and very easy to chat tool
