Certificate of Excellence

For a hotel still in its soft opening stage we were really impressed with the Kempinski. Set on a gorgeous bay in lush, mature gardens with a backdrop of huge granite boulders. Elegant reception, dining & pool areas & beautifully designed rooms the hotel is extremely good value for anyone wanting the style & luxury of the top hotels like the Four Seasons & Banyan Tree without the hefty price tag.

The staff are all fantastic (Laurelle & Mervyn especially) going the extra distance to remember each guest by name (usually only something you get at the very best hotels). Meals taken in both the all- day dining restaurant & the speciality Indochine were excellent. Yes, the cost of food & drink is very expensive but this is The Seychelles so unless you plan to eat out at one of the small island cafes (difficult to get to unless you have a hire car & taxis are really expensive) then you can expect to pay a lot. Would definitely recommend booking a food & beverage package before leaving home as this can bring the price down considerably.

All the rooms are set in 2 story blocks and are identical inside, only the view determines the different prices. The Hill View & Lagoon View are set on one side of the main reception area near a tropical lake whilst the Beach View & Sea View rooms are on the other side - the Sea View rooms being on the upper floor with fantasric views of the bay. They are spacious & extremely luxurious. Families might be happier on the ground floor which open direclty onto the gardens whilst an upstairs terrace gives more privacy for couples.

It is a very international hotel with guets from all over the world which we really like. When we were there it did feel a little bit like Moscow-On-Sea. The only negatives were the people who get up at the crack of dawn to put their beach towel on the best sun loungers and then return to bed until lunchtime! It is a great hotel for couples but also families. We met families with small children staying at the nearby Banyan Tree who had come to use the beach of the Kempinski as their own beach was too rough. Baie Lazare is gently shelving and you can snorkel in very shallow water right off the beach and snorkels are complimentary.

Would definitely recommend hiring a car as it is great to explore the island independently. There are hire cars permanently at the hotel so it is easy. We didn't explore any further than Mahe as we have previously stayed on the other islands but would recommend Fairyland Beach for excellent snorkling (again right off the beach) and only 15 drive from the hotel and Intendance Bay (near The Banyan
Tree).

They staff are pulling out all the stops to make the hotel just perfect in time for its official opening on 1st March. Definitely one of the very best hotels on Mahe.

Room Tip: All rooms are exactly the same inside (except the Deluxe Sea View rooms & Suites which have bath...

Stayed here for 3 nights with work. I must say the rooms are superb with iPod docks (nice) and flat screen tvs. The food at all restaurants is simply superb - couldn't fault the food or service.
The location is right on a beautiful secluded beach with soft white sand.
I would definitely return on holiday.

A trip booked without much time to research the hotel or the island as hotel was a good price.
The beginning of the holiday the hotel and staff where what we expected from the wording "soft opening" but towards the end of our holiday we noticed a marked improvement in the standard of service in general in the hotel both at breakfast and evening meals. We did mention and speak to your member of staff Antonio who welcomed our comments and seemed to be overseeing the improvements that had been made. We had a great time and would certainly return to the hotel with the service we received in the last few days of our holiday.

We went away for a Double Birthday Celebration.. and couldn't have chosen a better place! From the moment we booked online I had a Reservations Agent corresponding to me on email for my numerous queries.. Upon arriving there was a Birthday Cake waiting in the room, for our own private celebration... The room itself (Deluxe Sea View) had everything one would want from a hotel room.. we had two young babies and so two cots were put in the room.. Bathroom was excellent too!

The food at the hotel was par excellence be it breakfast, lunch or dinner.. The buffet has everything one could think of.. if you are on HB then buying the extra lunch is pricey but that is all over the island..

The Staff are amazing, they were so friendly and loving towards our children, whether it was to baby sit our older child in the evenings, or make special baby food every night for 8 nights, wash baby bottles or help persuade the kids to finish all their food, it was an experience we shall not forget..

The beach is pristine and untouched, and if you hire a car then going around the island and its windy roads is pretty easy and lots of fun with awesome views!

We were aware of the soft opening. However, after all, a brand is a promise. This name promises a lot. We were frustrated several times. There were several nuisance missing items which lowered the quality of our stay. No tennis balls. Beautiful court can not be used. No proper internet. Extremely expensive food. etc.

This of course lowers price performance a lot.

Room Tip: Hibiscus rooms are the best since they are the closest to the pool and main beach.

Do you think is there any better place to start a new year than Seychelles Islands? Maybe there is!!! But for us it has been wonderful and different..... With all this nature around us and the idilic beaches, that most of us have seen in advertisements or in travel agencies brochures anytime....
About the Hotel, I must say first that the staff has been very helpful at all times, Food was quite good and service aswell. The property matches completely the environment, is not an building, but a two floors wooden property facing the sea with vegetation all over and at the back an impressive mountain. Rooms are Kempinski 5* style.... which means nothing is missing in it... If you feel like visiting around, try to book a day trip from reception or consider to rent a car, taxis are very expensive..... ( recommendation visit La Digue & Praslin )

Just back from the Seychelles and we stayed at the Kempinski. The hotel has just opened and we were impressed. The rooms are fantastic and very modern. The bed was very nice, flat screen TV with lots of channels to pick from. Very good bathroom with shower room. The best thing about the hotel was the staff. I have never said this about a hotel but the staff at the Kempinski could not have been better. They are all very keen to help and very friendly.

The beach is nothing short of one of the nicest beaches you will ever see and is right on the doorstep of the hotel. The hotel breakfast is also very good and has lots of options. If there was something that you want that they do not have then they will make it for you. Every time we go away we stay in 5 star hotels, a lot of them do not live up to expectations. The Kempinski is one of the few places I would call 5 star and hope it keeps up the good work.

We live in Dubai which is very expensive. The drinks and food in the Kempinski was more expensive which was the only negative, but if you are going to the Seychelles you will not be going for cheap prices. I understand that they need to get everything imported, this is the same as Dubai but $15USD for a drink is still expensive no matter what. The dinner was serving a bufet at 65 Euro + 25% tax per person which was expensive again but very very good.

Would reccommend to anyone who is going to the Seychelles. Some of the other hotels in the islands are a bit run down but still expensive.

Room Tip: If you are going to stay in the hotel, upgrade to the Sea View room as the beach view room can not s...
