What a disappointing experience, I am still overwhelmed at how bad this hotel really is, as i'm writing this I actually feel like a whistle blower and really hope I can at least save one very disappointed future honeymoon couple from the same disappointment we have experienced. We are perplexed how this has resort has had good reviews, our best guess it is because the Seychelles itself is so beautiful people have offset this.

In short i'm going to bullet point the timeline of our stay..

-I phoned prior to booking as well as emailed twice to let them know it was our honeymoon and wanted the champagne greeting, it was completely forgotten without apology or optional solution.

-We didn't get a tour of the resort so had to find out all the things they might have wanted to mention ourselves, for example the 25% tax and service charge on top of everything, only noticed this after buying my first gin and tonic and looked at the receipt which came to just over £25 (this was in there normal bar by the way not the restaurant).

-Although we were aware at first booking we had no option but to pay an additional £400 for 'The Christmas Gala Dinner and entertainment' we didn't realize that this included no entertainment,no drinks and was in the same mid range buffet restaurant served in buffet style.

-The service was very slow throughout, even though the whole resort has only 40 villas large. Most of the staff didn't know who we were.

-Everytime we requested things for example calling reception for information, much of the time relating to the above points we were told we would be called back and never received a response, later to find out most of the staff working behind the main desk were interns.

-After consoling with the manager who if I can recall correctly was called Marc/Mark in our brief conversation he mentioned he would get back to us. We received a call not from him but another intern from the front desk offering a vague apology and offered to reimburse us with a complimentary trip back to the airport when we reach the end of the stay, in which we had to decline as obviously we had already arranged and paid for tis before our trip, the member of staff replied they would still like to reimburse us as wanted us to be happy, in which we never received.

-What really took the biscuit was our last evening we were eating next to some other guest who were also on their final night, only to see Marc again, who greeted the family, thanking them 'so much' and exchanging his well wishes' we still are not sure if this was deliberate or not but he completely ignored us, even after this brief exchange and was stood directly next to him at the bar. I can only assume these other guests who appeared higher priority must have spent far more than us.

-The final straw, minutes before our ride to the airport arrives at 5am an anonymous staff member runs towards us in broken English asking us if we had stolen an orange juice from the mini bar, of which i replied no, I was then told i had to write a statement on a piece of people and sign.

In summary:

If you have already booked this hotel, please don't have a total meltdown! The Seychelles itself is fantastic and if you venture out, as we did you will be surely amazed, please don't expect much from this substandard hotel though.

we booked ourselves here to experience north of Seychelles, Hilton being a reputed brand of hotels we decided on this. the property itself has beautiful wooden houses stretched on the north waters of Seychelles ,our house was a little away from the water. close to the market area, pool area is beautiful to capture the sunset, water activities done, they send newsletter daily basis for events in the hotel ( which is good) , the staff are efficient and polite, obviously has a tourist u need to hire taxi ,which is available at the reception. Outlets again are minimum, the water wasn't so clean like the south ...... the room was cozy, the bathtub was awesome , the staff seem overworked .

Room Tip: Ocean front villas are excellent ! must go by the pool to see the sunset !

It was amazing to us that whenever I would walk through the lobby, the desk clerk would always call me by name (an it wasn't the same desk clerk). After being here a day, the staff knew us and our preferences.
There are only 40 units in this complex. When we visited, I think only about 15 of the units were occupied. It felt like we had the place to ourselves.
Our hillside villa (not beach front) still had a marvelous view of the water. We slept with our doors open all night just to hear the birds and the constant waves.
This time of year, their beach had "washed away" so we had to travel a few minutes down the road to enjoy the beach. I was assured that this is a seasonal occurrence and the beach will be back later in the year. (You can go swimming but the waves are big and the shore is rocky.)
The breakfast buffet is extensive. Made to order omelets, fresh fruit, fresh juices, pastries, cheeses, oatmeal, homemade yogurt, breads, scrambled eggs, potatoes, tomatoes, beans, cheeses, meats, champagne, grilled fish.....
The villa has an amazing shower, bed on a raised platform, double jetted tub, separate toilet room, room safe, flat screen TV with DVD player (DVD's available), deck with lounge chairs, table, chairs (which looks toward the ocean).
My wife sprained her ankle the day before we arrived. The staff used their golf carts to transport her everywhere and we never had to wait long. As the resort is on a hillside, there is some vertical to walk.
There are daily organized activities. My wife attended a complimentary cookie baking class in the kitchen with the pastry chef.
The staff really make an effort to be attentive and helpful. We felt like very special guests during our stay.

Room Tip: Hillside villas are cheaper and you still get to see and hear the ocean.

The Hilton strikes you as a bit rustic when you first arrive but when we got to (our basic hillside) room I was amazed. It was enormous and included a bathroom with a Jacuzzi facing doors which you could open to look out to sea. its the best hotel room I have stayed in.
The Infinity pool is pretty good too and the staff were excellent.
A hire car is a must. The hotlel is a little remote. Beau Vallon is less than a mile away but you cannot walk along the beach and the road has no pavement and is a little dangerous for walkers.The beach at the Hilton is very small and uninviting but there are many beautiful beaches on Mahe and most of them were empty when we went. Food and drink are a little pricey but no more than any other 5 star hotel and there are more competitive local dining options available if you are prepared to drive a mile or two. Try La Plage or La Perle Noir.

Room Tip: We had a basic Hillside room and still had a good view of the Sea and Sunsets

We stayed here on our honeymoon and simply loved it. We took the Oceanfront Villa and it very relaxing and beautiful. The service was also excellent. It's a short drive from Beau Vallon beach which is good if you don't want to be right in the middle of everything. The only downside I felt was the quality of food which wasn't too good. The pizzeria shuts down at five which is sad. The breakfast buffet was good but limited to a few choices. All in all I'll go back there again for sure.

NIce hotel with its own beach front. The staff is courteous and respect guest privacy and comfort. We went on our honeymoon and though our room water heating was not working, the hotel quickly alloted us a new room. Excellent view from the room balcony and nice property. Overall recommended for a 3-5 day trip.

Perfect location. Very helpful staff, like for us James sorted out all we wanted to do in Seychelles. Very nice resort, a home away from home. Although the hotel beach is a bit small and rocky, but with everything else being perfect you really don't bother.
