I enjoyed my stay. The only problem is that I did not get breakfast because I left early. They can do a "Take and Go" breakfast for those leaving early!

Will be staying there again tonight. Hope to have a breakfast this time around..

I was at this hotel 2 October 2013 for overnight.

The receptionist was quite welcoming in contrast to the the microscopic room. To open the door with the card, I had to try 3 times ( it seems to work that way all the time).
I couldnt believe that 14inch televisions still exist till I opened the door.
The aircon was so ancient that it blew dust into the room such that I spent a good 4 hours sneezing.
The bathroom didnt have any soap, so I had to dress again to go to the reception as the room phone didnt work- no tone.
The desk was so small that it couldnt accommodate a usb mouse pad and laptop, hence I had to work on the bed.

I had to walk 18 minutes to the mall to get supper which closes at around 1800hrs.

The buffet breakfast was ok, though I had to ask for a real water glass since they seem to be only having tot glasses for everything!!!!

The only thing that I enjoyed was the complimentary banana muffin!!!

Room Tip: I think higher level rooms have better A/C quality as they dont suck dust

My brother was staying at this establishment for two days. He went out for dinner, informed the receptionist that he will be back shortly and when he returned he found his room door had being pried open with a crowbar. His laptop and iPad was stolen. Two other rooms were also broken into.

We are currently investigating this situation. Alas, crime does occasionally take place in or outside our hotels. This is the first ever such incident at this hotel. Our PR adviser has contacted the guest in question and will get back to him with further details once the investigation has been completed. Please accept our apologies in the meantime

Didn't have a choice. Was put here by the office as it was near to a meeting venue. Not too bad actually. Room was small. Only one plug point in the room and it's nowhere near the bed. The TV is tiny - very tiny - so don't expect to watch anything on it. Seriously, it only has like three channels anyway.

Aircon in room was as noisy as anything. Don't expect to sleep with it going all night. Rather sweat it out.

Bedding seemed clean. Didn't have a problem with this.

Breakfast wasn't too bad actually, but I didn't touch the Beef Sausage or the Scrambled Egg. I didn't want the runs for the whole day.

Staff are quite friendly but they know they're not at the top hotel in Gauteng, and you can pick up on that.

Room Tip: Rather spend the bit extra, and go for City Lodge.

Hi there, we thank you for staying with us and for leaving us your review. While our rooms are small, we’re glad you found yours to be clean. Sorry about the noisy aircon – we’ll look into this. Glad you liked the breakfast – and hey, you should’ve tried the sausage and scrambled egg. Please note than Road Lodge is our one star budget brand which we believe offers good value for money. We’re also glad you found our staff to be friendly. We hope that you will consider the other hotels within our hotel group. Thank you.

We were booked in to a room with dirty linen. We were moved to another room but the duty housekeeper did not seem interested. There is only a really awful restaurant within walking distance. Pay a bit more and stay at City Lodge at the airport.

Hi there and thank you for staying with us and for leaving us your review. We are sorry to hear about the linen. Please note that Road Lodge is our budget one star brand – it would be great to see you at our City Lodge at the airport, but naturally the room rate is considerably higher.
We hope to see you soon.

Chose this hotel primarily based on it's price and proximity to the airport. The staff was friendly and the room basic but clean, which is all you really want for a short overnight stay.

I decided to stay here because needed some place to rest after arrival from Pilanesberg and before the evening flight to Moscow. The idea was to book the cheapest 2-3* hotel closely to the airport. And, as I have just stayed at City Lodge Morningside, they offered me three other hotels of the same chain: City Lodge Airport, Road Lodge Airport and Town Lodge Airport - all, actually, on the same street. I took a taxi and told him to go to Road Lodge Airport, but he misunderstood (or didn't know the correct address), so in the end I found myself on reception of the Road Lodge Isando, which just around the corner from Road Lodge Airport. But don't bother with names - they are all of the same quality, although different in some extra amenities (such as bar, restaurant or room size). City Lodge is more like a 3*super with large rooms, room service etc. Town Lodge has smaller rooms, while Road Lodge has minimum amenities - smallest room, tiny bathroom and no room service. They don't even change currency on reception (but they do it in City Lodge). Then you can compare: room in City Lodge cost 87$, Town Lodge - 69$, Road Lodge - 37$ (and no matter how many people stay in the room - one, two or three!). This was a good deal although I had some doubts about such a low price. But the room was clean, water pressure - good, staff - polite. They even include breakfast in the rate.
So if you travel by car or want to have an overnight stay near the airport - this is a best deal (but if you got lots of money, there's Intercontinental literally next door to airport terminal)..
