The Dalmore Guest Farm offer wonderful cottage in the middle of the farmland but a short drive from a very nice nature reserve and from the famous Drakensberg range. We stayed in a self-catering cottage all made of stone and very well equipped. This is the perfect place to stay to relax far from the city with plenty of activities around.
The host, Pippa & Andrew are very nice and will make you feel at home.

This little gem deserves more than a one night stay! Sadly I only booked for a one night stopover on the way from Durban to Johannesburg, but I am definitely going to be back.
From the turn into the driveway with the filtered sunlight coming through the trees and just catching the nearby donkey and foal in beautiful rim lighting this place just charmed me. I was put into the honeymoon suite and immediately regretted that my husband was not present to enjoy the whole experience. The spaciousness of the "room" was really like an apartment with mezzanine bedroom, full sized fridge and kitchen, massive shower area plus claw bath and an enormous patio area with an uninterrupted view plus lambs literally springing around just outside. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious home cooked meals by Pippa who hosted both meals in a separate dining room/building. Whilst I used my little free time to go horse-riding in the nearby Spienkop Nature Reserve, which was fabulous, next time I will definitely do more exploring of the farm itself. As much as I would like to keep this a selfish secret, I totally recommend this place.

We stayed at Dalmore during the Joberg2c mountain bike challenge. What a delight! Beautifully decorated rooms. Great hospitality and home made food. Ideal for children to explore the farm. This is a must when travelling through the Drakensberg area.

My wife and I plus 2 other couples recently stayed at Dalmore, and it really was a wonderfull experience. We were on our way from Durban to Joburg and Bergville is halfway. However it would be a great place to stay for a few days to explore the Battle Fields and/or the Drackensberg.
The cottage that my wife and I were staying in is rustic but very comfortable and spacious,it has 2 bedrooms ,a lounge with our own television, and a kitchen which has a fridge and tea making facilities ,it has a bathroom with a bath, and an outside shower.
The food that was served for the evening meal and the breakfast the following day was absolutely superb, much of which was grown or raised on the farm.
The setting is fantastic being 6.5klms off the main road on a working farm, with great walks all around the property.Sitting on the terrace of the main house sipping a glass of wine under the african sky was quite magical, and made us feel we were in the real africa. It was a wonderfull last night in africa for our friends and we were very sorry not to be staying longer.

Room Tip: There are a number of cottages of varying sizes, but all in very quiet locations.Evening meal should...

We could not praise Dalmore Guest Farm highly enough! The first stop of our 3 week holiday/honeymoon set the mark very high!

Like earlier reviewers we booked via email months before our stay-Pippa was very helpful and flexible when we changed our dates and no deposit was required which was perfect for us booking from overseas.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite which is a converted brick barn with well equipped kitchen and mezzanine bedroom. The standard of the room was first class and well above average for the price. The suite was spotlessly clean and each room was finished to the highest of standards-amazing shower!!!

Breakfast was served in the oval room in the middle of the property (another stunning room!) and the selection was fantastic. The chef was on leave during our stay and so Pippa cooked and bought our evening meals to our room-which were of course absolutely delicious.

We probably didn't make the most of the area we were in but Andrew and Pippa were very helpful in helping us plan a day trip to do the Amphitheatre trek, which was well worth the 2 hour drive.

We really enjoyed the pub in the main house which operates on an honesty system...and the resident dogs, particularly Duke, became firm friends by the end of our stay!

We really could not recommend Dalmore more-definitely THE place to stay in the Central Drakensberg-we just wish we had more time there to explore! No doubt that we'll be back!

We enjoyed our 3 nights at Dalmore Farm and are happy to recommend it. The farm makes an excellent base for exploring the Drakensberg mountains and the Spionkop nature reserve and battlefield. All can be reached within 20-40 minutes. The area is stunning and well worth a visit.

We stayed in one of the cottages which had two bedrooms, bathroom, living room and kitchen. It was very clean, comfortable and well maintained.

We had breakfast and dinner all three nights and the meals were tasty and reasonably priced. Andrew and Pippa are great hosts. Dining options in the area are limited and I would strongly encourage you to have dinner at the farm.

There is a full bar available and they can do your laundry.

This was one of our favorite places during our three week trip to South Africa.

We stayed there for 2 nights. It was our starting point for Royal Natal National Park. We loved this place. It was quite, the rooms were lovely, a combination of old farmer cottages and new modern furniture. As we love dogs it was lovely as there were three of them. The breakfast was awesome and because of the coffee mashine the offered the best coffee of whole South Africa. You can also have dinner at Dalmore Farm and it was also very delicious. But next time we will stay longer at this place! I can really recommend it.
