“Great place, great service, great people”
Reviewed 2 April 2007

We stayed here for 2 nights. We've been on a number of safaris before and stayed at a number of CC Africa camps and this one lived up to their high standards!

The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for us, the food was superb and the room was really special.

We arrived late one evening to find a hot steaming bubble bath all ready and waiting for us which was a wonderful surprise!

The game drives were excellent and you could choose how long you wanted to go for - we got great sightings of lions, hyenas, hippos, elephants, buffalos, giraffe, flamingos, pelicans etc. Our guide was excellent and made us feel really special.

The park itself is quite crowded with vehicles but because this camp is in the south you hardly ever see another vehicle so it feels like you have the whole place to yourself.

We were worried about going in the 'long rains' season as I didn't want to get stuck anywhere. It did rain but only at night and we had the most exciting thunder storm one night that I've ever experienced! Plus seeing a river bed go from totally dry one day to flowing with rapids the next was a great sight!

This place is well recommended!

Like the previous review we regret only staying here one night. It was beautiful and being set at the far end of the reserve meant you are away from the masses of safari vehicles. My husband loved the outdoor shower. The food was superb as was the service and the game drives excellent with fantastic picnics en route. We arrived to find a steaming hot bath prepared and waiting , everything was lovely. The sounds of the animals and birds at night were amazing. Would go back anytime.

We stayed here for 3 days on honeymoon and were totally blown away. Having stayed in a number of CCAfrica lodges our expectations were high, but this was certainly the best of the best.
The park itself is stunning, best seen when the lake is full (it wasn't when we were there but we still saw fantastic game).
However, the lodge, hidden away at the bottom of the park is paradise. The staff are outstanding, you get a private butler and a limited number of guests on game drives. We had sunset drinks on the lake, a romantic candlelit bath on our return, a picnic breakfast.... the list is endless.
The food was the best we have eaten on safari, fresh, plentiful, imaginative.
The rooms are incredible - high in the trees, with beautiful linen and amenities - the perfect honeymoon spot. We loved it.

Honeymooned here. My only regret was spending just one night in this amazing lodge. What a splendid combo of luxury and native landscape. Terrific food. Staff was over the top. I was blown away. CCAfrica is pricey, but reliably excellent in my experience.
