Kaya Shop and Tearoom in Mkunazini is a very good place to sit, have a cappuccino, and watch Zanzibar life go by on busy Mkunazini street. If you are looking for nice presents to take home, made by local craftsmen, this is the place to buy them! Kaya Shop is also home to Kawa tours, specialized in sustainable ecotourism. They can take you on a spice tour by bicycle, a guided city tour with a local blind guide, who will let you experience a different side of Stonetown, or you can do historical walks in the city with very well trained and specialized tour guides. An address to remember!!

This is a place to visit on your way to Darajani market or the slave market. Have spice tea, capuchino or hummus. Interesting owner who also set up Kawa training center for tourguides. Surrounded by gold and jewelry shops in the heart of Stonetown.

For nick nack shopping and a lovely place to have a cuppa tea, drop in for a look and to try some scrumptious cake. Friendly staff and pretty bits and bobs.

Charming owner and delicuious spiced tea.
I felt very welcomed as a solo traveller even though I arrived late in the afternoon. I was given no sense of being rushed.
Very good value.
