lulu roof top restrauntant is beyond amazing the service was top notch the scene at night amazing! and the food to die for! especially the flipper lobster! and thats just the beginning. you get to dine in culture for the building where seyyida now stands was the princess palace! and just adjacent to it was the sultan's concubine palace and the main palace is now the museum and it stands justs aside seyyida hotel! the hotel itself is filled with paintings depicting the zanzibar culture from time afar! the rooms were a nice blend between old sultan swahili arab culture and modern interiors this blend has brought about an exquisite taste! bravo seyyida!

We so thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Seyyida Hotel in Stone Town.

The service was impeccable and the staff very amiable.

From the family room that our group of 4 (two couples) shared, we had a lovely view of the royal graveyard. The decor was very unique, the room quite spacious and still allowing for privacy for the two couples that made up the group. I especially like how the hotel has managed to keep the traditional Zanzibari artwork and architecture on the decor pieces. I was especially amazed to learn that the hotel was actually the Princess' palace....

A roof top dinner at the hotel's restaurant was quite a highlight. Again, the service was prompt and top-notch...the food amazing...and the view of the sea and surrounding Stone Town-picturesque.

Came in late and found a room in Seyida. The staff were gracious, the room was a good size, with the balcony overlooking the sea. The food is fantastic! Only wish there were more people enjoying the fin cuisine. The hotel is situated within walking distance from the centre of Zanzibar. Overall, great experience and accommodating staff.

After a negative experience at a beach hotel, we had high hopes for the Seyidda in Stone Town. We were not disappointed. We thought everything about this hotel was top notch. The staff was attentive and friendly. The meals were amazing. We only had one night at the hotel, but would have gladly stayed longer. We loved the location. The room was impeccably clean and huge! We had to move around the hotel a bit to find the "hot spots" for wifi, but other than that enjoyed our stay here very much!

Room Tip: The rooms nearer the square are noisier. Get a high room if possible, towards the water.

We stayed here during our honeymoon and to be perfectly honest were pretty disappointed. Our room was a good size and as a 'sea view room', had lovely view over a graveyard with the sea in the distance, the bathroom was a bit of a shambles, with a broken shower and toilet seat that wasn't fixed (despite complaints), and the restaurant was somewhat 'limited' in the range of food on the menu and the service we received when in there. The location is pretty good as it's right by the night food market and is quite central. It's certainly not what I'd call a luxurious hotel, but was perfectly fine as somewhere to rest your head for a night whilst in Stonetown. You can tell this place was once a nice hotel, but it's certainly seen better days.
