Lovely authentic
Y French restaurant. Good value menus, delish food and great house wine in a lovely spot ... I would definitely recommend it!

“Simply Not Good Enough”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

On the face of it one might think two star rating might have been alittle harsh ,for this not so bad looking ,restaurant since was a little disappointed for the reasons below;
I really hate to go to a restaurant with something such as soap or towel missing in the washroom particularly right at the beginning of its opening time and this was the case here for the towel. Just a little tangent here not a good idea to visit Mirepoix with kids late afternoon on a Sunday even after siesta time since the restaurants resume at 7 pm and kids can't wait for their meal which was the case for us! My aim was the Chez Pap's (ref my previous visit to Mirepoix but closed on this Sunday!) There was one cafe open for some basic food but since it was 5:30 pm an hour before their closing time 6:30 pm they had no beef burger or steak left for kids either!
It was around 6 pm and Cetagrill seemed open but closer look revealed they were staff sat for their evening meal prior to their start of work and was told to book a table in advance which were kind enough to break from the food and jot my name down which I thought was a bit of a wishfull thinking since never got to even quarter full at time of our leaving!
Now to the food and service ! Startes were well presented but nothing special and . The main meals were most disappointing , steaks were thin and tough and my Cassoulet seemed warmed up in the microwave as the rim of burnt food round the clay dish was suggesting, and the food itself was dry and beans nearly mushed up like a molten lava to the point that only saw the susage and the duck and not the pork and tripe basically no juice to dip my bread just as well since the bread was rock hard perhaps from the same volcano as the Cassoulet !
And finally to the dessert this creme bullet like thing had a very hard and crunchy caramel on top capable of cracking some teeth and my wife's raspberry mouse was real dense and stale looking affair ! Service was not very good either ,never mind smiling faces one slightly rude out of three attending !

“As good as it gets!”
Reviewed 29 July 2013 via mobile

Mirepoix is a very atmospheric town, the more so on market day. There are loads of restaurants to choose from many if which are on the ground floor of the deeply jettied buildings that surround the market area. This was the first menu we looked at and we were lucky. The menus start at €14 for three courses - we chose from the Terroir - €17.50 and the Degustation - €20. The choices are appetising for each course and we each enjoyed our starters and mains - tomato and marinated goats' cheese salad, foie gras with toast and a well dressed lettuce, lardon and walnut salad, followed by nicely cooked duck with garlicky new roasted potatoes and a good traditional cassoulet. We both enjoyed the cafe gourmand for dessert. The food was accompanied by a superb bottle of Chateau Joliet rouge. Service was personal, efficient and friendly despite the 100 or so diners. The bill was just €50.50. If only you could eat as well and as cheaply in the UK!

“Our Local and we love it!!!!”
Reviewed 13 July 2013

We live 20 mins away from Mirepoix and this our fav place to eat. It is friendly and has a wonderful atmosphere and best of all the food is great too.
You can sit in or out and the waiters are lovely and chatty and the service is very good.
They speak a little english too incase you need any translating.
Try it if you are in town you wont be disappointed!!!
We take friends and relatives there and in September we are having a meal for 40+ on a friday night before my daughter gets married the next day at La Chateau Camon.

“Much better food than expected”
Reviewed 26 May 2013

I was recommended to go to this restaurant by a couple of local ladies, and when I first walked in I was a bit disappointed by what appeared to be a canteen style.
In fact the 14€ midday menu was excellent value for money, with a well dressed and nicely presented salad, a perfectly cooked fish course and a fromage frais with a delicious mixture of red berries, not just the usual liquid industrial sauce.
