“Charming authentic regional cooking”
Reviewed 25 May 2013

We found ourselves in Mirepoix and booked this restaurant for a party of four. In the end we simply opted for one of their set menus - the €18 one. This involved excellent rillettes, with the local 'fouaces' bread, cooked in front of us and totally fresh, followed by a very warming and tasty cassoulet and topped off with a nice on range flavoured creme brulee.

Excellent service and a really interesting place to go for dinner. I had a great time.

“Quantity & Quality”
Reviewed 5 May 2013

The setting is enchanting, with its exceptional authentic stone staircase . The Dining room and medieval hall are welcoming, & the background music & thé staff dressed in period costume adds a touch of originality. The food is good, you can taste the homemade specialties, the quantities are generous. I loved the fouace and spécialités such as thé rivesaltes ambre en breuvage served as an apéro.stuffed mushrooms are excellent. I succombed to dropping a small pièce of confit to thé old cat who was purring at my feet. I was then loved but not harassed by a very well behaved 21year old cat.
Définitly worth a visit. Then a walk round mirepoix to Digest.

“Value for money - you can't do better”
Reviewed 23 December 2012 via mobile

We found this little restaurant because we always look at least one street back from the usual tourist areas. We were with Australian friends and we couldn't believe the value this place offered. We had 4 courses for 14 Euros and the food was really good. Don't expect haut cuisine but for good food and excellent value try this little place. The service was good too. The place was packed with locals which is always something we look for when we are after an excellent experience and good food and value.
Tip 1: Don't arrive late - you won't find a seat
Tip 2: order the menu du jour - it changes frequently and it's the best value for money.

Had a really pleasant evening meal. Very good value menus. Outdoor terrace. Hidden away in lovely Mirepoix. Charming lady owner. Medieval theme is entertaining. Fabulous wood fired oven. The four of us loved it! Will definitely come back.

“A most disappointing experience.”
Reviewed 9 July 2012

The food in this restaurant is highly overrated. There is no a la carte menu and only 2 bad choices on the set menu. One was boeuf en daube or cassoulet - neither of which are appealing on a warm summer's evening!
At the entrance to this attractive garden and building are two sad/moth eaten effigies of a medieval couple which are rather macabre. The waiting staff are similarly dressed and this does not help the feel of the place.
I was very sorry I came here as I wanted to take my hosts out for a last good meal in the area.
