We came to Les Bruhasses after finding our first hotel in Condom intolerable (we shouldve checked tripadvisor sooner!). Helene and Jean, the owners were warm and welcoming even as we showed up on their doorstep unannounced. The property is beautiful and the room large and comfortable.
The food was indiscribably good. Great home made jams and breads for breakfast, divine 4 course dinners in the evening. We were thrilled to have both drinks and breakfast with a michelin starred chef who happened upon the place after checking out of the same horrible hotel (le trois lys)
Helene helped us set up meetings with local armagnac producers and shared some of the delicious armagnac related products from her family vineyard.

It was by far the greatest place we stayed in all of France!

Room Tip: there are only 4 rooms, any one of which are beautiful

We had a perfect two night stay at Les Bruhasses last week. Lovely peaceful location but still very near Condom. Beautiful room, gracious and generous hospitality, wonderful cooking. Look no further...you won't find anywhere to stay better than this!

Room Tip: The whole house is beautiful so I am sure any of the rooms would be equally lovely. Their website i...

We just returned from a 2+ week tour of the Aquitaine, and stayed at small chambres d'hôtes, throughout our journey. The winner of the absolutely best place to stay in the entire region is Les Bruhasses. Although some of the other places may be more "shi-shi" the gracious hosting abilities of Helene and Jean raise the bar on what two dedicated and delightful hoteliers can accomplish. The grounds and rooms were immaculate, and the breakfast and dinner "table d'hôte" service unsurpassed. I would recommend Les Bruhasses to any traveler going to this area, and look forward to a return visit.

We stayed at Les Bruhasses for four nights in early September - it was absolutely delightful. Warm welcome, very comfortable - and stylish - accommodation, delicious food and wine, peaceful surroundings. Jean and Helene know the surrounding area very well and speak perfect English. Table d'hote was excellent - Helene is an amazing cook. Hazelnuts and baby plums picked fresh from the trees in the garden added a unique touch to breakfast. We would not hesitate to recommend this chambres d'hote and shall definitely be returning.

Room Tip: The towers are brilliant!

We had the pleasure of staying in one of the Tower rooms at Les Bruhasses for 4 nights. The room was very comfortable with a seating area and shower room on one floor and the bedroom above. It was all beautifully furnished, quiet and very clean. The breakfasts were made memorable by Helene providing home cooked cakes and jams and locally sourced fruits and nuts. Jean and Helene were excellent hosts who made us feel very welcome, sharing their table and providing invaluable suggestions on good local restaurants and places to visit. We had two evening meals with Jean and Helene both were delicious and of excellent quality. Sitting on a large dining table outside were we able to meet fellow guests which was also a pleasure.
We cannot recommend Les Bruhasses too highly as it is a truly delightful place to stay.

Hélène & Jean's property looks and is amazing. It meets and exceeds so many stereotypes. It has the grandeur of an 18th century manor house, with the homeliness of a family home. Peaceful, calm and with all the comforts you need, and none of the ones that so many chain hotels impose. These days one does need wireless Internet, which it has. But if you are trying to get away from it all in the Gers, you don't need or want TV, so there is none in the room. My room was spacious very comfortable, with the perfect blend of 18th & 21st centuries.
Then there is the food. Simply put Hélène is one of the most talented cooks I have ever had the pleasure of sharing a table with. The food is remarkable, especially considering the kitchen in which it all prepared. If you get the chance of a place at table grab it with both hands.
The fact that Hélène and Jean are also both bi-lingual means that the options of where to stay when visiting Armagnac, has now become very simple indeed. Stay here.

I had the pleasure of staying at Les Bruhasses recently and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. As a solo British traveller, the warm welcome from Helene and Jean was much appreciated and they put me at ease during my stay. Their house is beautiful and everything has been thoughtfully planned. I had dinner and the hosts kindly sat me close to them and translated everything said at the table (my French is very basic!) - dinner was also excellent and accompanied by lovely wine from Helene's sisters vineyard I believe. In the morning, they lent me a mountain bike and a map so I could go off exploring and also told me the best places to visit. I will definitely hope to return and would encourage English visitors to stay as well because the hosts speak very good English and know the local area very well.
