“Great Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 August 2014

The selling point for this campground is location, the washrooms are clean. The camp sites are average with no shade and one of the resident campers has a very noisy bike which he likes to rev up when leaving and entering the park. As I said you could not get a better spot for location within walking distance to downtown and close to local wineries.

“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014

Staff very friendly. Has nice bathroom with showers. Walking distance from the lake as well as downtown. Even though it is usually full, it is quiet at night. Very easy to sleep with windows opened. Has tennis courts, baseball field and boat launch next door.

“Clute Park Campgroung”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2014

Visited this place in August of last year. We had a great experience! The office staff was very helpful. They sold firewood there. The park was clean and they had nice bathrooms. It was centrally located and was only a few minute walk into town. The camp ground is right across the street from Seneca Lake. We loved this place and are definitely going back again.

“Very small beach and doesn't really have sand”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014

The beach at Clute Memorial Park was VERY small. Also, the "sand" was more like dirt and very rocky. I asked the lifeguard if the sand was the same as another beach nearby, and she said yes, so we stayed (not sure if this is true since we did not visit the other beach.) The water was cloudy with dirt, rocks, crushed zebra mussels, and seaweed (although the kids didn't seem to mind). When we were there, there were a ton of kids from two different summer camps, so that was a little crazy. There was dog poop all over in the grass near where we set up our blanket. We had to cover it with "sand" so that the kids wouldn't step into it. I am sure this is isolated, but there was a young man with an ankle monitor (like the ones criminals wear) on by himself & that freaked me out a little.
The kids did like the playground. The plusses are that the water is shallow, so my little ones were safe to play in the water. The lifeguards seemed very attentive and experienced.
