“A perfect vacation at a perfect hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 September 2013

We were on vacation with our children at Leonardo Privilege Hotel Dead Sea from 23.9.13 to 26.9.13. The hotel is excellent : The room was very comfortable, spacious, clean and with a wonderful balcony. The view is impressive, just in front of the amazing coastal strip of the Dead Sea (a photo attached). The food and beverage concept is all included, which means that we had to spend no money during our staying and it was in a very high level. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were very varied, fresh and tasty. There was wonderful special buffet for kids each meal. At the snack bar of the swimming pool we got fresh fruit cocktails, ice creams, soft drinks and beers. The Lobby serves also high level of alcoholic drinks, coffee and ice coffee. For the children is was realy heaven, the Kids Club was magnificent and broad, includes modern video games, gymboree and a lot of activities and creativities with the very kind guides. The location of the hotel is great and each 20 minutes there is a very convenient back and forth shuttle to the beach. The Entertainment Department is extraordinaire, every evening there was a unique show and also special shows for the kids during the day. The most importent value of this hotel is the amazing staff all over the hotels departments, which were very very friendly, kind and helpful for every request and gave the best feeling to the guests.

I've been to the dead sea before but this vacation stood out! The Leonardo Prvlge is the whole package. Great rooms, friendly people and good food. My family and i really enjoyed the facilities such as the spa and indoor pool. Ill definitely come back!

the pool area there is a freezer with popsicles. Lunch was served both at the pool area and the hotel's dining room.
It was a real treating eating burgers on bean bag chairs on the pool while drinking our beers! (There is an open bar at the pool area)

We peeked into the spa which looked very nice as well.

this was a very enjoyable trip!

As with all hotels in Israel (especially the Dead Sea) the hotel was very overpriced. The location is not optimum as it is not on the real dead sea. It actually not even close to the fake dead sea (this part of the 'dead sea' was already processed and replaced like a manmade outdoor saltwater pool. The salt was refined - very silky and fine - like kosher salt; contrary to the real dead sea which should have naturally clumped together salt rocks). What I mean by not close to the fake dead sea is that you can take a shuttle to get to the beach - not a private hotel beach though. The shuttle was always telling us "20 more minutes" so we always walked to the beach which was like 7 minutes because of the stairs and rocks. It's much more pleasant to stay at a hotel on the water for the same price.
CON: on our last day we were eating breakfast (an omelet made at the omelet station) and I almost got seriously injured apparentlyre many pieces of broken glass in the omelet in my mouth!! Lucky for me I only got some minimal scratching and I immediately spit it out and washed out my mouth. We told the waiter who didnt care (he just said ok) and we stopped the host and he too said ok. I don't know why they didn't stop the omelet station to prevent a more serious injury to another guest. That was irresponsible and negligent. Shocked we went to a guest relation rep who was more understanding. She took the glass pieces in an envelope. She wanted to make it up to us by offering us lunch but we had it already included. We declined the sulfer pool offer as well as we already had that too.

We ended up asking for a late check out (2pm) which she gladly obliged us. In our room we received more than 5 calls telling us to check out so apparently the guest relation person never passed on the information and we were harassed with phone calls and knocking until we left before 2pm.

The poor communication, glassy eggs, and bad treatment left a poor taste in my mouth.

We each had a massage which I DO NOT recommend. Before the massage she didn't ask me how I feel and if I have any area she should focus on. It was more like an overpriced chair massage.
The sulpher pool and saltwater pools were relaxing and appeared well maintained.
We really had a relaxing time but found the hotel to be a bit noisy with few options for us as a couple to be away from the noisy kids.

Do I recommend? No. At this price you can find another dead sea hotel on the water.

When booking make sure you see where the hotel is located and if it has a private beach. The free shuttle to the water is a hoax and then you have the whole problem of having to find (and pay to use) a public bathroom.
