The location is perfect, the beach is very good. Other things are very bad. The staff isn't polite (particularly in reception) and doesn't know their charge. The breakfast and dinner are very tasteless, even fresh vegetable dishes were prepare some days ago. The swimming pool is nice but it is too small (18 m) to swim. The spa isn't bad, but it necessary to wait half an hour to change towels. This is 4 stars hotel with 5 stars proces and 2 starts quality. I cannot recommend this hotel.

We stayed at Hod Hamidbar for 1 night in late March about 5 days before Passover. The hotel was very comfortable and they made us feel welcome. The private beach at the Dead Sea is very convenient and they had free hot mud, food, drinks and a DJ. I don't know though whether it is there every day or just for the French Harley Davidson tour group staying there that night.

The salt water swimming pool was fantastic. The water was the same as in the Dead Sea, but it is warm and clean and easy to get in and out, unlike the actual Dead Sea with all the salt encrustation.

The food though was another story. The dinner option was very overpriced and of a very average quality. We ended up eating at one of the strip mall restaurants (better food and value). They had also koshered the hotel for Passover when we were there (5 days before Passover), so the breakfast food options were also rather poor.

We would be happy to stay there again next time, although some of the other Ein Bokek hotels look equally as good if not better.

This is your typical "high end" Israeli holiday hotel. OK food, OK rooms, a pool, access to the beach, etc. Not 5 stars when compared on a world-wide scale, but OK.

In the spirit of the Israeli holiday hotel, the evening program features "karaoke-style" singers switching on the echo "Elvis-style" on the amplifier system bringing your typical "It's now or never" repertoire.

My 5 year old actually loved this. She danced away on the music together with other children. Until the hotel manager removed all kids from the dance floor to create space for the 70+ year old guests.

Wrong call. My daughter asked me to spread the word to the world and ask no one to come here again. She was very, very upset.

Here, I did it.

The experience was awfull from the start: check-in was delayed with no explanation given, people at the front desk were simply rude. We had to refuse the first room we were given because of an awful smell, the second room was not cleaned properly either with some cleaning stuff left in the room. The room was tiny for three people. Lunch buffet was expensive and bad, breakfast was a little better (but not the incredible Israeli breakfast Israel is famous for). The whole place makes you feel depressed: looks like cheep senior citizen complex in Soviet Russia (me & my husband were born in Russia & it suprised even us). Everything outside (pool, beach) are outdated and not well taken care of.

Hi! oh well I didn't pick this one. We were with another couple. This place has a trashy feel with a mix of tourist trap. I think there are better choices in the area. The rooms are on the dirty side, the food is ok and the crowd looks like retired people on a budget.
