Basic motel with very nice boss name Angel who really does its best. Breakfast is good and sufficient.
Angel is very hard to make his guests happy with me, he has done it.
Rochester only disadvantage if you live here in Coconut need a car.

My wife and I have stayed in budget hotels around the world on all six continents. The Coconut Inn is one of the best for the following reasons:
1. The room was spacious with a full kitchen, which we did't use and a microwave and refrigerator, which we did. The bed was comfortable. We had cable TV. The room was quiet. I liked hearing the roosters in the morning. The room was clean with a balcony that we didn't use.
2. The free breakfast was good with eggs and meat each morning plus cheese, salami, juice, and of course coffee. We had plenty to eat.
3. The free Wi-fi worked well except for one short spell. I'm using it now to write this review just before leaving.
4. The location was just fine. We were about twenty minutes from the beach and the luxury hotels. Many highly rated restaurants were closer to us than the luxury hotels.
5. The staff was friendly and helpful.
6. The small pool was clean and never very busy.
7. A diverse clientele instead of just other Americans.
8. Some small nice touches included reasonably sized bars of soap instead of the tiny ones in most budget hotels and a free newspaper each day.

At the price we paid with the special seven day discount, I don't expect ice machines, hair dryers, soft towels, and mini-bars. I don't use luxury hotel features when I have them. Two small negatives were having to move a table in from the balcony for my computer and having to unplug the microwave for an outlet. The showers were warm enough for this hot climate.

A very high recommendation for budget accommodations where I didn't have to sacrifice my key essentials of a spacious well lighted room, a good night's sleep, breakfast, and an Internet connection.

You know, we have stayed at a lot of top star hotels. One is just the same as another and your treated just like a dollar sign and the other three hundred people who are staying there. Angel the owner was wonderful. He made sure we had everything we needed from a coffee pot to extra towels (which by the way were not rough), he called for us when we needed to make reservations for dinner and even sat on the porch with my husband at night and had a beer. We were treated like family. The cook made us a fantastic breakfast, pancakes, omeletes anything we wanted we just had to ASK. The pool was clean and the place was beautiful. Yes the room we stayed in was not fancy but clean and comfortable. If you want to stay at a five star hotel then go to the hight rises and be just another number. If you want to feel like family then the Coconut Inn is the place to go. Keep in mind when you talk to the staff and are friendly they will treat you the same.

Room Tip: The back units are more modern, we liked the bigger front units.

PROS
1. Miss Naya, the lady at the front desk, was the best (most valuable) thing/person of that location. She was very friendly, helpful, and looked out for the customers.
2. Everything (restaurants, markets, movie theater, two malls, other hotels/casinos) wasn't too far. It was a good 20-minute walk.
3. Free Wireless internet
4. Fridge and microwave in the room.
5. Near to public transportation.
(The place has potential.)

CONS
1. Towels were very rough like sand paper. The maids seem to refuse to use fabric softener when they wash the bath towels, pool towels, etc.
*After I told the owner (and he told the maids), the maids still did not use fabric softener.
2. Misleading- the photos show a bar (that hasn't been in use for the past few years.)
3. No fruits at all. Milk, cereal, pancakes, etc. wasn't available for breakfast at anytime. The person who handled breakfast refused to make an omelet for someone who was allergic to bread, etc. No changes were made to breakfast.
4. Hard beds
5. TV was as small as the screen on my laptop.
6. No safes, not even at the front desk.
7. The hot stove top/burners were ancient. I was afraid to use it, because it seemed unsafe.
8. No iron or iron board was found in the room.
9. That the place is really not three- star hotel.
10. Front desk doesn't answer the phone in the evenings and nights.
11. Dreary looking; extremely outdated furniture and appliances, even in the office/front desk.
12. Broken lounge chair, only 7 were available... not enough.
13. Pool did not state how did it was. The owner made assumptions that it was less than 5 feet and it is not. It was from 4 ft. to 6 ft.
14. No bathtub

if you like ants then this place is for you. Tiny ones but swarms of them.

Off the beaten track location, quiet, safe, good breakfast, full kitchen.

Worth the money. Sometimes the office is closed, be sure to call ahead. Inspect the room before you pay.
