Nothing to recommend it. It looks like it should be good, located on the bay, but the interior is uninspired and aged. Food is average at best. I have been there for lunch and dinner over the years, giving it another chance, but it just gets it right.

We recently tried Charlie's for the first time and it was a very nice experience. We just had drinks and a few different appetizers but next time we will try some entrees. The scallops florentine and the king crab cocktail were very good! We'll be back!

We have a summer home in the northern part of Ocean City, MD. We find that the restaurants in Fenwick tend to be better than the restaurants near us in Ocean City. Charlie's Bayside is an exception. There is little atmosphere. The restaurant looks like a summer camp cafeteria with a few nautical/beach decorations. The service was ok. Our waitress was efficient but not very friendly. The food was terrible. My wife had mahi-mahi which was tasteless. I had jerk chicken. It, too, was tasteless although it contained a few flakes of hot pepper. Really, how can jerk chicken not taste like anything?
This restaurant gets my vote for the worst in Fenwick Island.

We visited this restaurant for the first time last week. We stopped in after seeing their sign on the road out front. The walk up to the entrance was very pretty in the evening, with white chain lights guiding our way to the door. We walked in and found we were in the bar where we were immediately eyeballed by 4 locals and the chef who was seated at the end of the bar. We were greeted promptly and shown to our table and handed menus. A few minutes later, we were greeted by our server, Debbie, who informed us of the nights specials, and answered a few questions we had about some menu items. Debbie was pleasant and knowledgeable. We both ordered Crab Imperial for our entrée, a house salad each, and decided to share an appetizer, a cheesy crab dish baked in a loaf of bread. We were somewhat disappointed when we asked if we could have the Crab Imperial with either a rice dish or a pasta, and were told they had none. The appetizer was rather bland, and really didn't have much crab meat in it. When our dinner arrived, the Crab Imperial wasn't real flavorful either, and the veggies were rather bland too. The salad dressing was rather ordinary...could have been right out of a bottle from the grocery store. We decided to pass on dessert, and made our way to Dumser's for a sundae. The bill came to $85.00, plus tip, which I thought was fairly high, considering the previous evening's dinner at 32 Palms in the Hilton was only 5 dollars more for a delightful dinner. Oh, I might add that we arrived at 8:30 at Charlie's, and were the only customers in the dining room....should have been our first clue as to what was ahead.

Maybe we were just there on such a beautiful night that nothing could have gone wrong. We sat outside and enjoyed the lovely early September evening. Our waitress was very nice and service as good. I had chicken with crab imperial. The dinner was filling and tasty. Husband had jerk chicken and enjoyed his dinner as well. The kids had a burger and a wrap so there was something for everyone here. Thought it was reasonably priced and was a nice way to spend the evening.
