This is a nice little Shipwreck Museum that welcomes all FREE! Don't miss this attraction when near Fenwick Island, DE.
A lifetime of searching has resulted in an amazing collection of relics from shipwrecks near and far.
If you are lucky, you might visit while founder and explorer, Dale W. Clifton, is present. A simple question from a visitor can result in an amazing history lesson. Mr.Clifton's amazing knowledge is the result of a lifetime of research and study. His first person accounts of the discovery of the Nuestra Senora de Atocha, will keep you spellbound for sure.
We were given the opportunity to hold a gold bar weighing about 2 pounds for probably the only time in our lives. This was a recent find by Mr. Clifton and the related stories were amazing to say the least. One member of our party was afforded the opportunity to become a true "Limey." He was guided through the process of how to taste rum recovered from a shipwreck in 1733.
Hopefully the future will present the right opportunity for Mr. Clifton to gather all of his valuable findings in one spot for all to enjoy. Only about 10% of his findings are on display here with the rest on loan to museums throught the world. This is a dream I hope comes true soon.
Be sure to visit this museum when in the area. I recommend you purchase a Guide to the Museum for $5 which makes the visit so much more meaningful. Don't miss this!

I visit at least once a year! Sometimes you can see the owner Dale working in the lab! The staff is helpful and quick to tell you the story on the displays. However the real treat is when you get to hear the stories first hand from Dale himself! During my last visit I introduced this gem to a friend. We stayed for about two hours getting a chance to handle some of the treasures, sampling some authentic shipwreck rum! Dale is passionate and delivers great stories about his adventures and history! This is a must see attraction if you are visiting the Delaware or Maryland Beaches! There is no admission fee but please leave a donation!

We happened to visit when the man who dives for the treasure was there. He opened and let us taste a bottle of rum from an early 1600s shipwreck. What an experience. Very nice collection of artifacts from different dives.

Fun and education for kids. The shop has old-style souveniers, if you like that sort of thing. Not always someone there to discuss the displays or answer kids questions.

This is a wonderful little place to see some of the treasures found by Dale, the owner and explorer who found these items. His stories that go along with each treasure is fascinating. GO!!!
