“clean hotel near a number of restaurants”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

I was here as a one night stopover in July 2014. The room I was in was clean and fairly large, the bed comfortable and everything worked ok (AC/hot water etc). Staff I interacted with were friendly and spoke English. Check in was simple.

It is located around 25m from a small park surrounded by a number of restaurants + cafes (and curiously by at least 3 chemists). I was there on a Friday night and there was a fair bit of street noise throughout most of the night which didn't fit with an early bedtime having a 5.00am exit to the airport in the next morning. At that time in the moring it is a 10-15min drive to the airport.

(Note: Google earth seems to place this hotel about 500 M nw of its actual location)

My wife and I stayed at the InterCity Premium for 3 nights (Room 301) on our recent World Cup odyssey travelling around Brazil following the Australian team. It's not the best hotel we've ever stayed in, but it certainly is not the worst! The staff were friendly and efficient, language difficulties could generally be overcome, booking in was relatively simple. Breakfast was fine but modest. The pool on the ground floor at the rear of the hotel was nice, using the hotel internet was a nightmare (I didn't have WIFI). As is normal in Brazil, there is no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The location is fine, it was very noisy when we stayed there - particularly after a Brazil victory with the all night celebrations! - we found ear plugs are always a good idea in Brazil. The restaurant across the road on the corner is highly recommended - meals are enormous! Overall, we would stay there again if we ever return to Cuiaba.

Stayed at the InterCity Premium hotel in a Superior Luxury room on a Friday night. The hotel is centrally located with easy access to many restaurants in close proximity. The room was new, modern, clean, and very functional. Felt like it was just updated. The breakfast served at the hotel restaurant was offering various fresh and tasty choices that you don't always find a hotels of this category.
The hotel's biggest drawback was it's immediate very noisy environment with loud music echoing throughout the Friday night subsiding only at dawn, not allowing to enjoy the vry comfortable bed for what it is designed for: sleep.

Room Tip: Opt for a room with a view on the higher floors.

A slightly soulless hotel near Placa Populare where there are a few bars and restaurants. No English spoken. Rooms are fine but we were there on a Saturday and you do get noise from local bars until the early hours. The swimming pool is a decent size but the bar area supposedly servicing the pool is deserted and slightly dilapidated. We had to go into the hotel restaurant to get a drink and got some funny looks when we explained we wanted to take our drinks outside. Okay for a night if heading off to or returning from the Pantanal but don't expect anything special. Cuiaba itself appeared to be a bit of a dump to us but perhaps this is a little unfair given we were only there for an afternoon.

Good location, nice room, price average...
The room was clean, the furniture is new and the service is kind.
It is close to a famous and typical restaurant in Cuiaba, where you can go walking.
Just it!

I was in Cuiabá for the first time when I stayed at InterCity and at first I thought the hotel was very expensive but now that I'm used with the prices in the city, I changed my mind. It's not cheap though but I highly recommend.

Had one night in a large twin room on the seventh floor with LCD TV. Both beds were very saggy but the pillows were good. WiFi was patchy and would only let us have two devices on at any time. It was a public holiday and the restaurants and bars were going until about 1.30am but the air con drowned out most of the noise. None of the staff we encountered spoke English but we got by. Great lap pool which of course my partner then left his speedos on the back of the hotel door but they were safely held for us to collect when we returned from the pantanal.
Taxi from the airport cost 47R
